Tutorial Problems
Module 4
1. Show that the magnitude response |𝐻 (𝑤)| of FIR filter is anti-symmetric when the impulse
response is Anti-symmetric and N is even.
2. Obtain the condition for Linear Phase FIR filters.
3. Design a lowpass filter using hanning window whose cutoff frequency is 2rad/sec and N=9.
4. Compute a digital high-pass filter coefficients with a cut-off frequency of 1rad/sec using
Rectangular window with N=7.
5. A low pass filter is to be designed with the following desired frequency response:

H d (e j )  e j 3 
6

0   
6
Determine the filter coefficients of h(n) using Hanning window and N=7.
6. Utilize a Rectangular window function , Design a low pass filter with pass band gain of unity,
cutoff frequency of 1000Hz and working at a sampling frequency of 5KHz. The length of the
impulse response should be 7.
7. A low pass filter is to be designed with the following desired frequency response:

H d (e j )  1 
4

0   
4
Determine h(n) using rectangular window and N=7 and also find H(Z).
8. A low pass filter is to be designed with the following desired frequency response:

H d (e j )  1 
2

0   
2
Determine the filter coefficients of h(n) using hamming window and N=7.
