Envision yourselves as a visitor to a museum or art gallery in Can Tho city. Take your audience
on a tour of the art gallery/museum. In the tour, you should:
- Introduce general information about that art gallery/ museum.
- Describe objects in the museum or art gallery.
- Discuss the importance of preserving cultural heritage.
Yêu cầu: Tưởng tượng bạn là du khách đến thăm một bảo tàng, hoặc phòng trưng bày nghệ thuật
tại thành phố Cần Thơ. Hãy dẫn khán giả của bạn đi tham quan phòng trưng bày nghệ thuật/bảo
tàng. Trong chuyến tham quan này cần:
1. Giới thiệu thông tin chung về phòng trưng bày nghệ thuật/bảo tàng đó.

Khái quát về bảo tàng:

Can Tho Museum with an area of nearly 3000m2, is a place to display and introduce artifacts
about the country and people of Can Tho through each historical period; introduce the economic
- socio-cultural achievements of the Kinh, Hoa, Khmer ethnic groups... in the area in the process
of building - keeping the country and the current economic, defense, security and social
achievements.
Nguyên Quốc – thuyết trình về đám cưới truyền thống:
A wedding is a significant event in life, marking the start of a new family. In Vietnamese culture,
weddings are joyful days not only for the couple but also for their families, providing a chance to
bond, honor ancestors, and preserve traditions. Traditional Vietnamese wedding rituals, such as
the engagement, betrothal, and wedding ceremonies, carry deep meanings about marriage and
family values. On the wedding day, the groom’s family brings gifts like betel leaves, cakes, and
tea to the bride’s family as a formal welcome. The bride typically wears a traditional ao dai,
highlighting her grace. Each ritual reflects respect for ancestors, appreciation for the marriage
bond, and hopes for a happy, fulfilling life together.
Thanh Nhiều – thuyết trình máy chém:
The guillotine, displayed at the War Remnants Museum in Can Tho City, serves as a somber
reminder of Vietnam's past. Originally brought by French colonialists in the late 19th century, it
was used to suppress revolutionary activities, executing political prisoners. The Republic of
Vietnam, under President Ngô Đình Diệm, continued its use to quell communist sympathizers,
enforcing harsh measures under the 1959 Law 10/59. The guillotine became symbolic of a brutal
regime and resistance, embodying the struggle for independence. This artifact now
commemorates the courage and sacrifice of Vietnam's freedom fighters.
Hữu Hưng – Thuyết trình về súng:
These are military guns used by the US and French armies during the Vietnam War. It can be
seen that these are highly lethal weapons that defeated important targets of the Vietnamese
people's army. We can see rifles such as: Ar15, M56, M16,... There are also carbine sniper rifles
produced by France for aiming at long-range targets. We can see that these are highly lethal
weapons, but they usually only target innocent people to kill them. Through the guns displayed
in the Can Tho city museum, we can see the brutality and tragedy of war.
Hữu Bằng – Thuyết trình về Đờn ca tài tử
As a person born and raised in Bạc Liêu, I am very familiar with the name "Đờn Ca Tài Tử," a
symbol of Bạc Liêu and a famous traditional music genre of Southern Vietnam, deeply reflecting
the cultural identity of this region. Originating in the 19th century, "Đờn Ca Tài Tử" is a delicate
combination of folk music and classical tunes, mainly performed with instruments like the đàn
kìm, đàn tranh, đàn nguyệt, and đàn cò. In Bạc Liêu, "Đờn Ca Tài Tử" is not only a form of
entertainment but also an important part of the community's cultural life. In 2013, UNESCO
recognized Đờn Ca Tài Tử as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Can Tho is located in the lower reaches of the Mekong River and in the centre of the Mekong
Delta, and is a city located in the Key Economic Zone of the Mekong Delta, with a geographical

With the potentials and advantages of agriculture, industry, services, and economy, Can Tho city
is increasingly developing and contributing greatly to the economy of the entire Southwest
region.
Thảo My – Thuyết trình về xuồng ba lá
The "ba lá boat" (three-leaf boat) is one of Vietnam's cultural heritage items from ancient times,
serving as the primary means of transportation for the people living in the riverine regions. It
consists of two side planks and one bottom plank. To make the boat sturdy, people use curved
ribs, which form a skeleton resembling the ribs of a fish. These ribs also help secure the planks,
preventing the boat from warping.
During the resistance wars, the role of the "ba lá boat" was invaluable: it carried soldiers,
ammunition, and supplies, and helped transport troops and guerrillas across rivers. Many military
operations conducted on canals and rivers could only succeed with the help of local civilians
using these boats – a tactic known as "marching by boat." The "ba lá boat" could navigate
through dense mangrove forests, small canals, and hidden places, concealing forces and
commanders among the water hyacinths. As a result, the image of the simple, rustic boat has
long been considered a powerful weapon in the hands of our ancestors during wartime.

Cultural heritage preservation plays an extremely important role in preserving national identity
and connecting generations. Cultural heritage is a bridge between the past and the present,

development. At the same time, it helps the younger generation realize the responsibility of
preserving, promoting heritage and pride in national culture.
