CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

• The applicant(s) and the learner will be bound by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of Shining Angels as defined by the
School Board of Directors or its Head. The applicant(s) confirm that by signing this Admission Application that he / she / they will have
read and discussed the school rules contained in the Code of Conduct with his / her / their son / daughter / ward, and agree to adhere
to the Code of Conduct and to be respectful of the Christian-based values, programs and practices observed by Shining Angels
• The applicant(s) and learner accept and agree to their participation in the School’s Christian-based education programs and
environment.
• The applicant(s) and learners undertake to uphold the good name and reputation of Shining Angels at all time. The applicant(s) accept
that personal possessions of the learner are not covered in any risk insurance by Shining Angels and that the applicant(s) are
responsible for supplying adequate cover for the learner’s personal possessions. The applicant(s) accept/s liability for any loss or
damage suffered by Shining Angels arising from any misconduct of the learner howsoever caused.
• The applicant(s) hereby indemnify and hold blameless Shining Angels, its shareholders, directors, employees and agents against any
loss, damage or injury which may be sustained from whatever cause excluding gross negligence, whether on Shining Angels property
or en-route thereto or there from or during any extra mural activity or organised outing in which the learner or applicant(s) may
participate.
• The applicant(s) understand that the information contained in the enrolment contract constitutes a material representation relevant to
the acceptance of the enrolment of the applicant(s) child as a learner and the applicant(s) warrant that all information contained in the
enrolment contract is true, complete and accurate.
• The applicant(s) further agree that any change in information supplied in this agreement including but not limited to the applicant(s)
marital status, residential status or employment status does not alleviate the agreement made herein, and any such change will be
reported in writing to Shining Angels
• In the event of the learner’s expulsion from Shining Angels, the applicant(s) understand that he / she / they will nevertheless forfeit 3
(three) months fees payable in advance.
• Any relaxation or deviation from the terms of this agreement, which may have arisen in the past or may arise in the future, shall not be
deemed to be a waiver of Shining Angels’ rights to enforce strict compliance with these conditions without further notice.
This agreement shall be deemed to be concluded upon the enrolment of the learner by Shining Angels, and on the payment of the
registration and admission fee stipulated by Shining Angels and shall constitute the whole agreement between the parties and no
amendment, alteration, addition, variation, representation or warranties, whether expressed or implied, will be of any force or effect
unless reduced to writing and signed by both parties.
• All legal correspondence between the applicant(s) and Shining Angels sent by Shining Angels shall be delivered by hand, either directly
to the applicant(s) or via the learner or sent by pre-paid registered post. The correspondence shall be deemed to have been received
on the date of delivery or on the 5th business day after posting. Regarding all correspondence by the applicant(s) to Shining Angels, the
onus of proof of delivery shall rest on the applicant(s)
• The applicant(s) acknowledge that Shining Angels shall be entitled to recover all legal costs incurred by it, to enforce its rights under
this agreement, including but not limited to attorney and own client fees and collection and tracing charges. The applicant(s)
understand that by signing this application contract he / she / they consent to Shining Angels conducting whatever enquiries may be
considered necessary to verify any information given in this application, including confirming his / her / their credit rating with a
national Credit Bureau and contact with previous schools of the learner.
• On termination of this agreement for any reason whatsoever, the applicant(s) undertake to immediately withdraw the learner from
Shining Angels and to make satisfactory arrangements for the learner’s attendance at an alternative school.
• The applicant(s) understand and consent to the fact that Shining Angels reserves the right to conduct random searches within the
provisions of the school’s search and seizure policy which is in accordance with the SA Schools Act 84 of 1996, chapter 2.
PAYMENT OF FEES
1. Tuition Fees are payable monthly in advance, by the 1st of every month.
2. Interest shall accrue on all fees and disbursements not paid by the due date
3. The applicant(s) will be liable for Shining Angels’ customary charges and necessary disbursements incurred in the administration
relating to the late or non-payment of the said fees and incidental expenses inclusive of, but not limited to the payment of bank
charges arising from unpaid cheques, returned debit orders and cash deposits.
4. The applicant(s) consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court in respect of any action to be instituted by Shining Angels in the
event that Shining Angels is obliged to institute legal action for outstanding school fees and related expenses due by the applicant(s)
then, and in the event, the applicant(s) shall be liable to Shining Angels for all expenses incurred in collecting any amount owing by the
applicant(s), which expenses shall include all legal charges on the scale as between attorney-and-own-client, collection commission
and tracing fees.
5. School fees may be subject to an annual increase at a rate determined by the School Board
6. The applicant(s) acknowledgement that the inability of the learner to attend school or absence of the learner from the school does not
relieve the obligation to pay school fees.
7. Three (3) calendar months’ notice must be given in writing should a learner resign from Shining Angels or three (3) months’ notice will
be payable in lieu of notice:
8. The applicant accepts that Shining Angels reserves the right to suspend a student from attending classes if the school fees are not
paid until such time that the outstanding fees have been paid in full or until a payment plan has been discussed, agreed and
implemented to recover the outstanding fees. Such suspension may be instituted after the first missed payment. It is the parent
obligation to immediately notify the Principal of financial challenges that could prohibit the payment of school fees.
9. The applicant accepts that Shining Angels reserves the right to withhold school reports / transfer cards until all outstanding fees have
been paid in full.
10. The applicant accepts and agrees to the upfront payment of the non-refundable enrolment deposit for registration and administration
prior to admission.
11. Fees may be subject to an annual increase as determined by the School Board
12. The applicant(s) accept joint and several liabilities for the due and punctual payment of such school fees, subscriptions, levies or
other amounts which may become due and payable to Shining Angels or in respect of attendance or participation by the learner in any
extramural or school related activities.
13. Unpaid accounts will be loaded on TPN (Credit Bureau) which will negatively affect your credit score.

Acknowledge that in certain situations there may be insufficient time to contact parents / guardians or to refer to Medical Records
and therefore consent to the exercise of delegation of the necessary parental powers to and by the Head, Deputy Head or
nominated teacher over the learner whilst the learner is on the Shining Angels premises and / or engaged in any activity in
connection with or incidental to Shining Angels, academic, sporting, recreational or otherwise and herewith confirm their
appointments in loco parentis, having all necessary authority and without limiting the generality in case of emergency, regarding
any medical treatment, operation or blood transfusion.
Accept responsibility for the payment of all medical / hospital related costs and undertake to refund Shining Angels immediately
on demand of such funds dispersed by Shining Angels.
Agree to give written permission and directions for the administration of any medication taken during school hours or after-hours
school activities
Indemnify and hold Shining Angels , its shareholders, directors, employees and agents harmless in respect of all loss or damage,
whether to person or to property, from any cause howsoever arising, which may be sustained by the learner stipulated or his / her
property or possessions, whilst on school property or under school control during any school excursion, activity or outing, or as a
result of medical treatment administered under paragraph 1 above.
Agree that this indemnity and appointment in loco parentis shall commence on the date of signature hereof and remain in force
and effect for the duration of the learner’s enrolment at Shining Angels

RELIGIOUS POLICY

The Christian faith defines the heart of our school and the source of our understanding of what it means to be human and to
understand how education with a Christian perspective should apply to developing the heart as well as the minds of our young
people. The very foundation of who we are and what we do at Shining Angels is rooted in the powerful, all-consuming and living
Word of God. Even when unspoken our values serve as a powerful example to our learners. Life is becoming increasingly difficult
as economies continue to strain under the global pressures of instability and uncertainty. Our young people will inherit serious
moral responsibility in a world where moral values are on the decline at a rapid rate. When these pressures of life come, a Shining
Angels learner will know how to stand firm, how to depend on God for direction and to realise there is hope in what may seem a
hopeless situation to others. Shining Angels learners learn to value their relationship with God as much as they value knowledge.
We believe it is important for learners to know what they believe and why they believe it, even if they do not choose Christianity.
Ultimately, through Christian-based learning our aim is to ensure future generations of young people of noble character leave
school with a love for humanity.
Parents who choose to enrol their children at Shining Angels recognise and accept their child’s involvement in a Christian-based
school and the School’s Christian-based practices and programs.

All learners will attend assembly and devotional periods which include scripture reading, Biblical messages and prayer.

As part of the application for admission, the School may require a credit reports and or other related
information.

The purpose of the credit report is to assess the financial means and ability of the parent / guardian to satisfy
the financial obligations as set out in the Application for Admission.

FEES

• There is a once-off, R1000 non-refundable enrolment deposit.

• Monthly fees are charged at R2800 invoiced over 12 months
• Monthly fees need to be paid in advance by the 1st of every month, should fees not be paid by the
first of every month, immediate suspension is applicable
• Aftercare is only payable for Grade R Learners of R350 per month.
• Annual Fee Payments: There will be a 5% discount provided the annual fee amount is paid no later
than the 1st of January.
• There is a R500 Annual Re-Registration Fee due by the 1st of September

Shining Angels will be closed on all Public Holidays. Shining Angels reserves the right to close on any other
granted public holidays or at the discretion of the owner/principal.

MEDICATION

We are not allowed to administer any form of medication from parents unless you write it on the medication
sheet that is available in every classroom and sign it off.

FINES

Fines will be charged at R50 for every 15 minutes that your child is collected late. These fine amounts will be
invoiced to your account. It remains the responsibility of the parent to ensure backup transport is arranged
should you be running late.
