4.4.1 Three-stage Overcurrent Protection

The device is configured with three-stage overcurrent protection with low-voltage interlocking.
The three stages of protection are independently configured, and the protection logic is the same.
Explanation of directional elements:
SAU-300 User Manual A01 12
SINENG Electric Co., Ltd.
The device specifies that the positive direction is from the busbar to the line, The directional
elements adopt a 90°connection(𝐼𝑎 → 𝑈𝑏𝑐 /𝐼𝑏 → 𝑈𝑐𝑎 /𝐼𝑐 → 𝑈𝑎𝑏 ), The positive direction characteristic
equation is as follows (maximum error range in parentheses):
Ir e  j 45

 
 90 (10 )  arg  90  (10  )

Ur
In the equation: 𝐼𝑏̇ and𝑈̇𝑟 represent the current and voltage quantities corresponding to the 90°
connection method respectively.
The voltage restoration interlocking component is subjected to PT disconnection interlocking.
When a PT disconnection occurs in a branch, the selection of whether to interlock the voltage
restoration component can be made through the "PT disconnection interlocking protection" setting.
When the "PT disconnection interlocking protection" is activated, the current protection will
directly trip upon "PT disconnection alarm";
When the "PT disconnection interlocking protection" is deactivated, the directional current
protection will switch to pure overcurrent protection upon "PT disconnection alarm".
The specific logic diagram is as shown in the following figure:

4.4.11 CT disconnection alarm

CT disconnection alarm is determined by zero sequence current and zero sequence voltage. An
alarm is triggered after a delay of 10 seconds.
During normal operation, the sum of the three-phase currents is zero. When the CT is
disconnected, the sum of the three-phase currents is not zero, and the current of the disconnected
phase is zero. To exclude line faults, the zero sequence voltage must be zero.

4.4.12 Non-electrical protection

The device supports up to 30 groups of non-electrical inputs, labeled as Non-electrical 1 to 30.
During program initialization, the specified input dry contacts (DI) can be associated with the inputs
either through configuration or hard-coding.
When the corresponding non-electrical protection is activated, and the trigger conditions for
Non-electrical 1 are met, the protection action will be executed after the necessary delay. This
function can only be triggered if both circuit breakers in the two branches are in the closed position;
otherwise, the non-electrical protection will be interlocked.
If the trigger signal persists, the output signal will remain active. After the trigger signal
disappears, it needs to be reset before the trip signal or alarm signal can be cleared.
