1/ Introduction

Overview
Welcome to neoColorBox’s User Manual. neoColorBox is a colorway creation program, which offers a friendly
windows-working system, so that various designs and colorways can be managed at the same time.

With neoColorBox you can share colorways, color libraries and layouts, and it allows to use different profiles to
your files. The printing methods of neoColorBox, as it includes the agile “QuickPrint”, is a flexible modality to
export your colorways with customized variations of layouts. This will speed up your printing tasks, and
consequently the company’s workflow.

This program has been designed to work as Stand Alone, or to work in coordination with neoCatalog, another
great Inèdit program to catalog, make colorways and see designs applied to virtual models. Both programs are
connected via web through a common server. Further, neoColorBox can work without an internet connection
when needed.

neoColorBox has been designed to work together with neoCatalog, or as Stand Alone. neoCatalog is in order
to keep designs, colorways, color profiles, etc. updated. Both programs are connected via web through a
common server. You can work offline with neoColorBox. The moment you have internet connection both
programs will be automatically synchronized. User authentication with multiple-level privileges is supported.

For more information about neoCatalog, please refer to neoCatalog’s User Manual available for download from
Inèdit’s website: http://www.inedit.com/en/product/neocatalog_1_2_3

Color channels
Each color channel is represented by a color patch with its color reference, when working with a color library
from neoCatalog:

or embedded RGB Hex Colors # values:

Color channels description

Each patch indicates various data, as well as allowing to access some channel information:

Original color is the first embedded color in the design separation, e.g. Adobe Photoshop Spot colors.

Present color is the current color of the coloration created with neoColorBox.
Various Superposition Methods used by Inèdit are available. Disabled is used
to deactivate the channel, and the other four coloring methods, to fill the
channel with color. All shown and selectable in the following dialog.

Color Reference is coming from your color library or Hex Colors # values, when using color picker.

neoColorBox - User Manual 24 of 47

Keeping the Channel separation button pressed, you
will see the separation of such channel in a black/white
color.

channel won’t be visible in the design, and the patch is shown in grey.

Color channels opacity

Most of the design separations are overlapping in some areas of the design. Using the eyedropper tool
you can see the approximated total opacity calculation in those areas.

Select the tool on the tool bar and

click on desired design area. The
calculation is visible in the color
channels down, in % values of
opacity. On on the left is the opacity
for each channel, and on the right

For example, in the image below, the

total calculation is 250% , which is
the sum of percentages of all 3
channels.

Apart from this, the color picker

opens automatically, while you click
on the design area, in order to drag
and drop the color and use it for
other colorations.
