    Kakatitya Canal – Permission for re-examining the possibility for
    the creation of additional ayacut under Rudrangi tank and other
    newly proposed LIS by the existing agency-Req- Reg.

    Sripada Yellampally Project, Stage-II Phase-I consists of lifting 12 TMC of water from
    the barrage across river Godavari near Yellampally (V) Ramagundam (M) to irrigate an
    ayacut of 2.0 Lakhs Acres in the uplands of erstwhile Karimnagar (Dist) through the water
    conductor system of 110 Kms by construction of 6 Nos of Pump Houses & Delivery Cisterns,
    1 Formation of New Tank & remodeling of 15 Nos of existing Tanks and by excavation of
    Gravity of 44.207 Kms to feed the Tanks, and work was entrusted to M/s IVRCL - Navayuga
    - SEW (JV), Hyderabad.

    For the creation of 1,51,400 acres, by utilizing the water from SYP stage-I, Phase-I
    three packages Namely Canal Network package-I, Canal Network package-II and Canal
    Network package-III were designed and works were grounded in a phased manner. Out of
    these distributor packages Canal Network package-II was designed under Rudrangi tank
    and the details of the package is as detailed below:

    Type of Agreement: - LS type of agreement was concluded, to create an ayacut 43100


    Acres under Rudrangi and Nagaram Tanks.
    Agency: - VENSA – SEW (JV), Hyderabad
    Agreement No: - SE/SYPC/LMD/07/2017-18 Date: 22-01-2018.
    Agreement Amount: - Rs. 173.26 crores. 2nd EOT Granted up to 21.1.2021.
    Work Status: - The survey and investigation work for LMC and RMC of Kalikota
    Cheruvu (Rudrangi Tank) is completed and HP’s also approved.
    The survey and investigation work for Distributories and Minors
    and CM & CD works are in progress.
    Financial Status: - 0.70Crs (0.40%) Balance work: 172.59 Crs.
    L.A STATUS: - Requisitioned: 521 Ac (For Main Canals), Acquired: 0 Ac, Balance:
    1800 Ac (Jagityal Dist:- 1600 Acres Rajanna Siricilla -200 Acres)
    Amount Required for LA: 180 Crs, for distributaries, minors and
    sub-minors survey work is in progress;
    During the review meeting chaired by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Telangana Govt, held
    on 12.07.2020 @ Pragathibhavan, on tanks feeding and ayacut under Kathalapur and
    MedipallyMandals of JagtialDists, the Hon’ble Chief Minister has instructed, to curtail the
    ayacut under SYP, Stage-II, Phase-I to an extent of 90,000 Acres, as the system is designed
    for a discharge of 1000 Cusecs. And also, in view of availability of water in Flood Flow Canal
    the Government has decided and instructed, to submit the proposals to feed Rudrangi tank
    from Flood Flow Canal, instead of SYP Stage-II Phase-I scheme, by constructing a new pump
    house, for supplying water to ayacut under Rudrangi tank and, to feed the tanks & gap
    ayacut between Kakatiya canal & FFC through lifts, vide reference 1 st cited.

    In continuation, the Engineer in chief (Project), Karimnagar has inspected below


    mentioned proposals and instructed to submit the proposals duly examining the feasibility
    to feed gap ayacut and the Lift Irrigation Scheme estimates. Accordingly 5 No.s of LISs
    estimates were prepared and submitted to accord sanction, vide references 2 nd & 3rd cited
    as below:

    1. Construction of Pump House @ Dumpet (V), Kathalapur (M) to feed Rudrangi Tank from
    FFC @ Ch 52.30 Km
    2. Construction of Pump House at Ippapalli (V), Kathalapur (M) to feed Lakkakula Tank
    from Suramma LMC @ Ch 6.40 Km
    3. Construction of Pump House at fore shore of New tank 450, Chandurthi (V&M), to feed
    Kothapet tank and Mothkuraopet Tank
    4. Stage-I, Construction of Pump House @ Maddutla (V), Mallial (M) to feed Kotha Cheruvu
    from FFC@ Ch: 76.22 Km & Stage-II, Construction of Pump House @ foreshore of Gudi
    Cheruvu, Maddutla (V), Mallial (M) to feed Nallamattu tank

    Further, on 29-12-2020 Sri. B Vinod Kumar, the Hon’ble Vice - Chairmen, planning
    commission, has conducted a meeting on new LIS proposals and instructed to further
    examine the feasibility for the creation of additional ayacut under Rudrangi tank, keeping
    in view of the changed circumstances i.e. source of feeding the Rudranging tank from FFC
    and other lift proposals.

    Vide reference 6th cited, this office has requested the agency M/s Vensa-SEW (JV),
    Hyd (which is only the agency under SYP), to give consent for examining the possibility for
    creation of additional ayacut under Rudrangi tank and other new LIS proposals and the
    agency M/s Vensa-SEW (JV), Hyd, has submitted their consent for reinvestigating the
    creation of possible additional ayacut if any vide reference 7 th cited.

    In this regard, I request the Engineer in Chief (Projects), LMD Colony, to give
    necessary permission for conducting investigation work for the creation of possible
    additional ayacut under Rudrangi & other newly proposed LISs by the existing agency.
