The following text is for questions number 11 to 13

Once upon a time, Roro Anteng and Joko Seger lived on the foot of Mount Bromo. After six years of
marriage, they had not had any children. They prayed to the gods for children. Their prayer was granted on one
condition. They should sacrifice their youngest son for the Bromo crater.
Not long after, Roro Anteng gave birth to a child and it happened every year until they had 25 children.
They lived happily and forgot about the agreement. Mount Bromo then erupted signalling that the gods asked
the couple to fulfil their promise. However, they did not want their youngest son, Raden Kusuma, to be
sacrificed for the crater.
Raden Kusuma learned about the agreement his parents had made. Meanwhile the lava from Mount
Bromo`s crater had made the people living near the mountain suffer. Since Raden Kusuma was a kind and noble
man, he did not want his family and other people to suffer because of him. So, he went to Mount Bromo and
sacrificed himself. Then the eruption suddenly stopped.
After that day, the Tengger people have made offerings to the crater, as Raden Kusuma had sacrificed
himself before.

Two frogs had lived in a village all their lives. They had a plan to see the big city that was about ten
miles away. They discussed about it for a long time and at last, agreed to set off for the city.
It was a hot day and they soon felt tired. They had only gone a little way when one said to the
other, “We must be nearly there. Can you see the city?” . “No,” said the other, but if I climb on your back.
I may be able to see it.” So it climbed up on the back of the other, to see the city. When the frog put its
head up, its eyes could only see what was behind and not what was in front. So, it saw the village they
had just left.
“Can you see the city?” asked the frog below. “Yes,”answered the frog above. “ I can see it. It
looks just like our village.”
Then, the frogs realized that it was not worthwhile going any further. They returned and told the
other frogs in the village that what they had seen in the city was just like theirs.

The text to answer number 19 to 20.

In West Java there is a special place for animal called Ujung Kulon. Among the animals in
Ujung Kulon are the big rhinos which people sometimes call “Badak Jawa”. Other people call the one-
horn rhinos from Java. This kind of rhino is rare in Indonesia as well as in the world.
Let’s take a look at one of them. It is about 3, 5 meters long and weighs about 3,500 kilograms. Thick
pieces of very hard skin cover its body. It has a short neck, which is why it is difficult for a rhino to
turn its head to either side. It therefore has to turn its whole body. A rhino has very small eyes and does
not see very well. Instead, its hearing and sense of smell are good. It has a short, hard horn above its
nose which it use as a weapon.
