• he created graphic works in an anti-aesthetic style.
• his works from this period were filled with erotic obsessions, with symbols of death.

Second half of the 60s to the mid-80s
• In this period, he began working on his most famous paintings – The ‘fantastic’ series
• The predominant themes in these works are hellish landscapes, disturbing nightmarish figures
and haunting architecture.

• He entered a period which he described as ‘gothic’, represented by deformed heads.
• When computer editing became possible, he began to add surrealistic alterations to photographs

• In 1998, his wife died of cancer.

• A year later, Tomasz, his son, committed suicide.
