YOUR FIRST DAY

Please watch our welcome video which shares important information on what to expect on your
first day at school and what to bring with you. Your course will begin with an orientation on
Monday. For the exact start time, please refer to the Departure Guide. Orientation will include:

• Completion of forms and collection of any outstanding payments
• You will need to provide the school with a copy of your passport bio page, a copy of your visa, a
copy of your electronic I-94 showing your most recent admission status, as well as proof of travel
and medical insurance.

By your first day:

• You will be placed in a class according to your English level

• Sign any pending documents

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• We will send a Visa/Letter of Acceptance for all course enrolments (where applicable)
• Proof of Travel & Medical Insurance is mandatory for all students. If you arrive without this
document, you cannot begin classes until an insurance policy has been purchased. We also highly
recommend that this insurance policy covers your personal belongings during your stay
• Please clearly advise your customer care representative if you need a transfer on arrival. Transfers
are available on Saturday and Sunday ONLY, surcharges for midweek transfer may apply.
• Accommodation is available from Saturday or Sunday to Saturday. Charges apply for additional
nights outside of these dates.
• Parents of applicants under the age of 18 (19 if attending our Vancouver location) must complete
and return the signed Authorisation for Minors Form and the Emergency Medical Treatment Form
prior to the student's arrival. The forms will be sent to you as soon as the booking is made.
• You should send all changes or cancellations to the Kaplan International offices as soon as
possible.
• K+ post-departure access subscriptions are nonrefundable once you have started your English
course.
• Classes may be scheduled for mornings and/or afternoons, depending upon the course location
and date.
• Flight details and visa confirmation (if applicable) must be submitted 15 days before the service
start date listed on your booking confirmation to ensure housing placement. If this information is
not submitted on time, please check with your Kaplan representative for updated housing
availability. If preferred housing is not available, alternative dates or accommodation options may
be offered and additional fees may apply.
