Who Are The Linkreators?

In this lesson you learned that creating content specifically for Linkreators is KEY.

That’s because your Linkreators are the only people with the power to actually link to you.

And when you create content specifically for that group, getting links is actually pretty easy.

Now:

That’s not to say that you shouldn’t create content for your target audience. You should.

(In fact, in Module 2 I’ll show you how to create content for both groups)

The big takeaway here is that you need SOME content on your site that appeals to Linkreators.

And in this worksheet I’m going to give you some additional examples of Linkreator-focused content.
I’ll also give you a field where you can jot down any Linkreators that you might already have in mind.

Linkreator-Focused Content Case Study #1

A while back I noticed that lots of my Linkreators started talking about the same topic: voice search.

Note that literally zero percent of my audience or customer based asked me about voice search.
They’re (rightly) more worried about ranking their site in traditional Google search.

But Linkreators are kind of a different breed.

They’re bloggers. And journalists. And influencers. Which means they like to cover topics that are
“the next big thing”.

Once I saw this trend unfold before my eyes, I realized that I needed to create something specifically
for my Linkreators.

First, my team and I bought a Google Home and did our own little voice search ranking factors study.

(Note: I show you exactly how to create these sort of industry studies in Module 2)

Not surprisingly, that content was a huge hit with bloggers and journalists in the SEO space.

Why do I say “not surprisingly”? It’s not because I’m being cocky. :)

It’s because I created this content FOR my Linkreators. So of course they would share my content
(and link to it).

In fact, that single post brought in 15,271 visitors in the first week.

And to date that page has 1.16K referring domains pointing to it.

Linkreator-Focused Content Case Study #2

STW graduate Mikkel Sciegienny runs a website that helps people use Microsoft Excel.

Needless to say, this is far from an exciting industry with mass appeal.

But Mikkel knew that he didn’t need content to “go viral” to succeed. Instead, Mikkel realized that
a single piece of content that appealed to his Linkreators could boost the rankings of his entire site.

Which is exactly what happened.

Mikkel produced a guide using the Go-To Guidebook framework in Module 2.

Even though his target audience could get SOME value from this guide, it’s really designed for
Mikkel’s Linkreators.

Which is why he was able to get solid editorial links from other sites in the software niche, like this.

I’m going to show you exactly how to find your Linkreators in the next lesson.

So if you have no clue who your Linkreators are, no worries. I cover that in-depth in Lesson 3.
If that’s the case for you, you don’t need to fill anything out here. It’s 100% optional. Instead, head
