Evaluating Sources on Technology's Impact on Schooling

Introduction
In this modern world of technological advancement, the role of technology has become
quite transformative in approach and delivery regarding learning. Understanding its impact does
require an exploratory look at several online sources on a critical note. This critical analysis of
the sources is divided into five different source types: websites related to educational institutions,
academic textbooks, corporate websites, Wikipedia entries, and unrelated entries with a topic on
agriculture.

1. Website: University of the People (UoPeople)

Evaluation: Being the website of an acknowledged, non-profit online university,
UoPeople gives an idea about the development of online learning and access to higher
education. Given the comprehensiveness and the currency of the website, one can easily
deduce a commitment to transparency and international education; hence, this is
considered a trustworthy source in this context.
2. Principles of Management Textbook,. (2015).

Evaluation: Since the material in the textbook is peer reviewed, academically sound
and uses Creative Commons, it can be reliable. The clear examples and cited sources
add to the reliability of this source in understanding the concepts of management;
such as communication challenges relevant to technology in education.

3. Profile Microsoft de Wikipedia :

Evaluation: Wikipedia is generally good to start with, but extreme caution has to be
exercised owing to the fact that there may be inaccuracies with user-edited content. This
would be a moderately reliable article for general overview, as the referencing is quite
good and contains links to primary sources. Other resources are better for information on
how technology has affected the education process itself because of their higher
specialization.
4. Pega on Robotic Automation:

Analysis: In this source, Pega-a company that only operates in the RPA business-
provides considerable information on this very technology. The applicability and
relevance of the content to the understanding of the application of RPA in business
processes is greatly high. However, keen attention should be paid to probable
promotional bias that may exist in company websites that tend to showcase solutions.
5. Wikipedia Entry on Agriculture in the United States:

Evaluation: This is essentially a mirror of the Microsoft Wikipedia article. The value
in this site is an overview of the topic with references. It's a good starting point, but
not necessarily recommended for academic research in technology and changing
patterns of schooling.

Importance of Online Source Evaluation:

In fact, online information evaluation is an important way to ensure that research data
present objective and factual information. Basically, it is through reliance on credible sources
that you can confidently raise an argument and earn trust in your work. As it were, the ability to
filter out and identify trustworthy sources is an imperative attribute of success in today's world
full of misplaced information both in academic and professional contexts.
