PROGRAM
Computers cannot do anything on their own.
The user instructs the computer, what to do, how to do and
when to do.
In order to perform any task, user must give a set of
instructions in a particular sequence to the computer.
These sets of instructions are called PROGRAMS.
SOFTWARE
Software is a set of one or more programs that work
together to help the computer perform a task.
Examples of software :
MS -Word , MS PowerPoint ,MS Paint etc.
HARDWARE
Computer hardware are the physical components of the
computer which you can touch, feel and see or hold in
your hand.
But a software cannot be touched. It is a collection of
programming code installed on your computer's hard
drive.
Examples of Hardware:
Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor etc.

Computers understand Binary language. All other languages have to be
translated for the computer.

Languages can be broadly classified as: language
High level
language
Low level language consists of:
i) Machine Language , and ii) Assembly Language
Machine Language or Binary language has two digits 0 and 1
Example of different High-level languages are C, C++, C#, Python ,
Java etc.
UTILITY SOFTWARE
Utility softwares ensure smooth functioning of the
computer system. They assist the OS in carrying out
tasks as per user instructions.
