GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Date & Time of the competition :December 16-17, 2024 at 10:30 a.m onwards
2. Venue: Vidyasagar University, Midnapore
3. Registration fee shall be Rs. 250/- per participant

5. Registration fees for late entry are Rs. 350/- upto 16" December, 10.30 am.
6. The Schedule of event is prescribed in the summary sheet.
7. One teacher from every college/institution is to be deputed as in-charge of the team.
8. The Boys/Girls should put their signatures on the summary sheet against their names with
clear (V) Mark on the event they want to participate.
9. The college /institution team should come with its oWn flag.
10. The participants will have to attend the competition at their own cost and the University
will only arrange refreshments.
11.Kindly note that -
a) Only students who are below 25 years of age as on 1" July, 2024 can participate in
the Inter college cultural competition
b) A student employed anywhere on full time basis shall not be eligible to participate.
12. It should be ensured that the participants selected for the University team must
participate in the Inter- University competition.
13. Scan copy of all the documents (1.even wise list of participants in given format 2. illed
in individual form 3. Registration fees payment documents) are to be sent to
vu.iccc2024 @gmail.com by 14/12/2024 positively.
14. The manager of each college / institution team shall produce participants and accompanist
with hard copy of filled in individual form including age proof. Last Examination Admit
card or Marksheet and valid identity card with recent photograph duly authenticated by
the principal/head of the concerned college institution on arrival at the venue of the
competition.

RULES & REGULATIONS

1. MUSIC:
(a) Classical VocalSolo (Hindustani /Karnatak)
1. Only one entry per institution is allowed. Duration of performance-10minutes.
2. Time for stage /Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.
3. Maximnum number of accompanists allowed is two.
4. Item can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnatak style.
5. Film songs are not allowed under this item.
6. Sufficient thought and care must be exercised in the choice of Raga and composition.
7. Judgement will be based on the qualities like, taal, and general impression.

(b) Classical Instrumental Solo (Percussion)


1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.
2. Duration of performance shall be between 8-10 minutes.
3. Time for stage/Instruments setting is maximum 5minutes.
4. Maximum number of accompanists is two.
5. Participants must bring their own instruments.
6. Item can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnatak style.
7. Judgment will be based on the qualities like Taal, Selection of Raga, Composition,
Kayada, Rela, Tukda, Layakari and General Impression.
8. Accompaniment should be live and not recorded.

(c) Rabindra Sangeet


1. Only oneentry per institution is allowed.
2. Time for stage /Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.
3. Maximum number of accompanists allowed is two.
4. Participants must bring their own instruments.
5. Rabindra sangeet must be selected from Prakriti Parjay.
6. Judgement willbe based on the qualities like, taal, and general impression.
7. Submit your one copy of swaralipiat the time of competition.
(d) Light Vocal (Indian)
1. Only one entry per institution is allowed.
2. Time for stage/Instruments setting are maximum 2 minutes.
3. The number of accompanists allowed shall not be more than two.
4. Duration of the song shall be between 4 to6 minutes.
5. Only non-film songs/geet'ghazal/bhajan/shabad and abhanges can be presented.
Judgement will be made on the qualities like swara, taal, selection of raga. composition
and gencral impression.
(e) Western Vocal (Solo)

4. The group songs should be taken from Indian songs which can be in regional
language.
5. No film song should be presented as group song.
6. Duration of performance shall be between 8-10 minutes which does not
include setting time. The setting time for a group shall not exceed 4 minutes.
7. Judgment willbe on the basis of quality of singing only, Selection of Song,
Pronunciation, Theka, Coordination and not on makeup, costumes and actions
of the team.
8. Accompaniment should be live and not recorded.
(g) Folk song:
1. Only one entry per institution is allowed.
2. Time for stage /Instruments setting is maximum minutes.
3. No. of accompanists allowed shall not be more than two.
4. No. of participants should be one.
5. Duration of song shall be between 4-6 minutes.
2 DANCE:
(a) Classical Dance (Indian)
1 Each Institute can send only one entry.
2, The classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance such as
Kathak, Kathakali, Bharat Natyam, Xatriya, Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam.

3. Participant will be allowed up to 12 minutes minimum and 15 minutes maximum
including time for preparation. Maximum three accompanists are permissible/CD

4. Participants shall bring their own material. Only the drawing paper/sheet 11" x8"
willbe provided by the Organizers.
(d) Rangoli :
1. Each College will be represented by one participant.
2 Duration will not be more than 60 minutes.
3 Participants shall bring their own material. This art is know differently in various
regions such as Mandna, Alpana, Alekhan, Kolam, Rangoli, etc. For this the medium
and form for expression can be free hand, pictorial and descriptive. Only one
medium shall be used - Poster Colors or Petals or Saw-dust or Pulses or Rice

without pasting.
4. The participants shall have to prepare a rangoli within the space provided by the
organizer.

(e) Cartooning:
1 Each College will be represented by one participant.
2. Item will be conducted on the spot given subject/idea.
3 Duration will not be more than 60 minutes.
4. Participants shall bring their own material. Only the drawing paper/sheet 11" x 8"
will be provided by the host University.

() Clay Modelling:
1. Each Institute willbe represented by one participant.
2. Item willbe conducted on the spot.
3. Duration will not be more than 60 minutes.
4. Topic/size and other specificrules shall be announced on the spot.
5. Clay shall be provided by the host Institute.

(g) Spot Photography:


1. An Institute can send one participant.
2. The participant has to bring hisher own digital camera of not more than 12 mega
pixels.
3. The digitalcamera should have a memory card which will be formatted by the
judges before the commencement of the contest.
4. The time limit will be 60 minutes.
5. Theparticipant has to capture 5 photographs on the theme announced on the spot by
the judges.
6. No mixing, matching or morphing of photographs willbe permited.
7. Software such as Photoshop etc. for enhancing images not permitted.
8. The organizers will have all rights for the use of these pictures as and when they
deem fit.
9. Digital images are evaluated on the basis of (1) IMPACT (ii) COMPOSITION (III)
TECHNICAL QUALITY and (IV) SUITABILITY for the specific theme.
10.The additional Instructions willbe announced on the spot.

IMPORTANT

The participants are requested to study the rules and regulations for the various
eventsgiven above.
The decision of the Judges appointed for different events shall be final and binding
upon all.
