2. Abstract
Parking allocation has become a major problem in modern cities and as a result, many
smart parking systems (SPS) have been developed. Therefore, this paper seeks (SPS)
have been developed. Therefore, this paper seeks to do an in-depth study, to do an in-
depth study, comparison and analysis of different types of SPS with reference to their
technological approach, sensors, networking technologies, user interface,
computational approaches and services offered. The road problems faced in
metropolitan cities can be solved by this proposed automated SPS. The main drawback
of the current parking system is to find the availability of slots. And to solve this we
have proposed a new modern parking system which is more efficient way to find the
availability of slots and to manage it.
Keywords: Parking system, Python, Graphical user interface (GUI), Custom tkinter.

3. INTRODUCTION
Parking systems consist of infrastructure and technology. They are used to manage and
organize vehicle parking in various ways. For example; in commercial buildings,
residential complexes and public spaces. It is difficult to find parking spaces. Hence this
problem exists majorly in the urban areas where there are usually more cars wanting a
parking space than those that can be accommodated. The system will offer a role-based
access control, allowing managers and employees to perform their respective
responsibilities effectively. One major feature of this program is its automatic generation
and sending of parking receipts through WhatsApp using Twilio API which enhances
communication as well as record keeping. Therefore, we intend to create an efficient and
reliable solution for the management of parking areas satisfying the requirement of both
manager and the employee needs.
The problem that the system aims to address is the difficulty that user face in finding the
parking slots. And to build and deploy a comprehensive parking management system that
will improve and automate the parking operations of businesses and institutions. The
system will offer role-based access control, allowing managers and employees to perform
their respective responsibilities effectively. One major feature of this program is its
automatic generation and sending of parking receipts through WhatsApp using automated
system which enhances communication as well as record keeping. Therefore, we intend
to create an efficient and reliable solution for the management of parking areas satisfying
the requirements of both managers and workers’ needs.

application comes with a CustomTkinter (CTK) – a graphical user interface which allows
easy navigation among its users. There are also secure logins that depend on one’s
position in the company. Employees have an option of adding or terminating other
employees in their list, altering passwords as well as managing vehicles’ data including
parking information as well as others that have been removed. It can also help in checking
parked cars and their records. Further, any time a car is parked or exits; the system
produces a receipt which is sent automatically through WhatsApp to the owner making the
parking experience simple and effective.
4. LITERATURE SURVEY
1) In 2021, Chuan Wei Zhang, Rui Zhou, Leilei and Xinyue Yang proposed a study on
Automatic. Parking System Strategy which provides a Comprehensive a comprehensive
review of the current state and strategies involved in automatic parking systems. The
integration of APS with ITS is highlighted. This integration allows for better traffic
management and enhanced user experience by providing real-time parking availability
and guiding vehicles to vacant spots.

2) In 2021, shows the research on Smart Parking System shows a comprehensivereview
based on various aspects" by Abrar Fahima, Mehedi Hasan, and Muhtasim Alam
Chowdhury offers a thorough examination of the advancements made in smart parking
technologies. It discusses different approaches and technologies employed to make
parking easier and better for the users. Internet of Things (IoT) is used as an essential part
for monitoring the availability of parking space and guiding drivers toward giving room
for others, thus saving them time spent looking for a place to park.
3) Jashwanth Dasari, Shivani Vodnala, and Swapna Enugala (2021) proposed a solution
aimed at optimizing parking management in multistory garages and open lots by means
of an image-processing based method. A set of live video feeds used by this method
allows for automatic detection of unoccupied or filled parking spaces using Python and
the OpenCV library. The authors provide more insight about the working of Tesseract
OCR for license plate recognition, which has enhanced its abilities to efficiently manage
parking slots [3]. The paper also describes the algorithmic approach to vehicle
identification through background subtraction, morphological operations amongst other
approaches. Benefits associated with this include decreased search time for available
parking spaces, easier way to handle parking systems and better user experiences.

Shinde (2021) demonstrates a study proposes on different architectural models for smart
parking systems giving a comparison of their strengths against the weaknesses.
Furthermore, this paper considers security and privacy issues such as recommending
encryption and secure data transfer protocols.
6) Suraj Kumar, Summy Kumar Singh, Utkarsh Kumar, Vijendra Raj, Mr. Suman Jha
(2s023) Shows a study on smart parking systems reduce vehicle emissions from decreased
idle time, enhance user convenience, and optimize space management. Efficient slot
identification is achieved using technologies such as optical character recognition (OCR).
Additionally, various environments such as multistory garages or open parking lots can
be controlled with smart systems that are algorithms based on advanced programming
languages like Python and OpenCV which enhance imageprocessing among others
7) Vemula Krishna Chaitanya, Mamidi Sri Harsha, Lanka Maneesh Kumar, Venkatadri
Rahul, Palme Goutham Kumar Reddy, Abhishek Kumar (2021) Examines Smart Parking
Management System paper, scans through resources relevant to the topic and gives an
overview that it is all about technology advancements in parking. Smartparking systems
are made possible by Internet of Things technology and can provide real time data on
availability of spaces. Utilization of these systems has ruined things like traffic jams in
cities, though they serve to make spaces used more effectively and save people time when
looking for parking among other benefits.
8) Mahdi Jemmali, Loai Kayed B.Melhim, Mafawez t. Alharbi, Abdullah Bajahzar,
Mohamed Zazil Omri (2022) has presented seven algorithms aimed at reducing
differences in the number of users in different parking stalls, hence improving the parking
experience. These algorithms emphasize on collection and analysis of data in real time so
that, based on demand and availability today, adjustments to parkingallocations can also
be dynamic. One of the main aspects about this research is the focus it places on fair
distribution which makes sure that parking resources are used.

9) The study conducted in 2017 by Shidian MA, Haobin Jianga, MU Han, JU Xie, and
Chenxu Li has Research on Automatic Parking Systems Based on Scene Recognition”
looks at key advances in automatic parking technologies that make use of scene
recognition. This article stresses three major elements: sensor technology; data
processing; and system integration. When looking at the latter, it is necessary to look at
how these components are brought together in a single package that enhances their ability
to deliver reliable automatic parking solutions. Here, it is noted that IoT technologies help
smart parking systems which communicate with vehicles and infrastructure therefore
allowing for more efficient use of time and space in driving.
10) Amira. A. Elspnbaty and Mahmoud Shams in (2020) addresses an innovative method
for managing parking lots through IoT technology. It uses Arduino parts along with
Android apps for fast parking process.
4.2Proposed System
The Parking system control framework we are suggesting will have a double function
access system for both employee and Manager. In this case, the sign-in page will be able
to distinguish between the two and hence managers can also modify employee passwords.
Both employees and managers will be able to access vehicle management functionalities
such as entering details of a vehicle including number plate, vehicle type, parking level,
parking/read vehicles among others. Users can look for parked vehicles through an
elaborate record system. When one parks their vehicle or leaves it after some time, our
system sends them a digital receipt via WhatsApp.
