BATTERY CHECK
l. Normal operation-The battery condition indicator does not appear.
NOTE
Do not remove the batteries while using the camera. Turn off the power when you replace the batteries.
Have extra batteries available if you are using the camera outdoors in cold weather.
Battery performance is reduced in low temperatures.
The batteries will function normally again when the temperature returns to normal.

. Avoid obstructing of the lens when you take a picture. Pictures can
be spoiled when a finger, hair, or camera strap falls in front of the
lens, exposure sensor or autofocus windows.
.When you take vertical pictures with flash, the flash should be

TAKING PICTURES
. Aim the Autofocus frame at the subject.
' Press the slrutter button half way down. The lens is
focused when the green lamp turns on.
' lf the subject is 1.25m(4.lft) or closer, the green lamp
blinks 4uickly and the shutter locks. ln this case, you can
' still tal(b pictures by using Macro mode.
' Press the shutter button all the way down to take a picture.
' Press the shutter button carefully to avoid camera shake.
' The film will automatically advance after shooting and the frame
counter will advance.
NOTE
. After taking pictures, turn the camera off. This will protect the lens and prevent unintended
shots.
x The model has a' diopter " control on the viewfinder which adjusts for individual eyesight
requirements.
Slide the diopter control either up or down whilst looking through the vievufinder to obtain the optimum
setting.

gently, particularly when using longer focal lengths(telephoto).

USING THE FOCUSLOCK

of your picture, us€.the focus lock function described below.
'ij.\u6^ l. Aim the camera with the autofocus frame superimposeo over
the target.
Press tlfre shutter button half way down.(The green LED
illuminatesor blinks slowly.)
Be careful not to press the shutter button all the way down
to avoid taking an unwanted picture.
3. Keeping the shutter button depressed, recompose your picture
as desired.
Hold the camera steadily and gently press the shutter button
completely down.
The focus lock can be released at any time by lifting your finger
from the shutter button.
Some subjects are dfficult to focus on.

' After taking dil the pictures on a roll of film, the camera will automatically rewind the film.
The motor stops when the rewinding is completed.
. When the,rewinding is completed, the back cover and film indicator on the LCD will blink at the same
time.
. lf you press the 0N/0FF button during film rewinding, the rewinding is interrupted until the 0N/0FF
button is released.
2. MID-ROLL REV\4NDING
. To rewind the film in the middle of a roll, press the rewinding

REPTACING THE BATTERY OF THE DATE

. When the display of the date becomes too faint to read, the battery should be replaced.
' Unscrew an{ open the battery chamber cover as shown above.
. Take out the old battery and insert a fresh one, with the positive(*) side up.
. After replacing the battery, reset the date.
. Power source : One coin type 3V lithium battery(Jls CR-123A)
. Battery life : Approx. 4 years.
NOTE
. The date may be difficult to read if it is imprinted on a bright or nonuniform area of the picture.
. The unit is designed for use between 50t and -l0t (120T'and l5"F).
At temperatures above or below this range, the date may be difflcult to read.
. The Quartz Date is equipped with an automatic calendar which requires no adjustment through the year
2019.Once set, the calendar automatically advances the date, adjusting for long and short months and
leap years.

Use Exposure compensation to manually adjust the level of exposure to compensate for lighting levels.
Use the "+" position to increase exposure or the r"-2 position to decrease exposure.

. Use this settingfor pictures with wide perspectives such as landscapes or group photos.
Most ohoto-finishers'will be able to print panoramic shots as extra wide prints for added impact.
. Move the panorama switch to PANORAMA position.
Then the picture area frame in the viewfinder is to change into panoramic view.
NOTE
. When you take your film to a shop for processing, you should tell the assistant that Youi film
requires special treatment.
. Remember that panoramic processing is usually more expensive than 'standard' processing.

IMPORTANT FACTS
Be careful to keep from spilling anything on lenp gr light meter cells. lt is a good idea to
keep your camera lens cap closed whenever the camera is not in use.
lf you have trouble with your camera, please take it to a dealer or distributor, or back to the store
where you bought it. Do not try tQ take the capera apart or to repair it yourself.
The camera contains a high voltdge circuit that could be hazardous.
Keep your camera safe from sudden shocks or vibration. lf you drop your camera, it is a good idea to
have it checked before using it.
Using the camera when it is very cold hinders its performance. lf you plan to take pictures when the
temperature is below 7e(45T'), take care to keep your camera and battery warm.
Be particularly careful not to take your camera from a very cold place directly to a very warm place. This
may cause moisture to condense on the inside of the camera.
Do not use your camera to take repeated flash pictures when the temperature is above 40e (104T').
