Episode

working on this episode.

Target Your Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this Learning Episode, I must be able to revisit the concept of learning
environment in the context of the current teaching and learning situation.

Clarify Your Task

A learning environment, traditionally called the classroom, is a space in a school
that supports student learning. It is a self contained area where teacher teaches and children
learn. In the classroom are chairs or tables for students and a front table for the
teacher. This is a traditional face to face classroom. Most often the students should
face the teacher as the chairs are arrange that way. But as teaching deliveries changed to
enhance learning, modification in the seating arrangement evolved and more opportunity
for the learners to move about for cooperative learning was addressed.
A conducive learning environment should have the following characteristics:
● Flexibility - There is opportunity to have small groups, movable walls.
● Openness - Learning corners/areas which could be shared.
● Access to resources - Audio-visual materials are ready and open for use.
● Physical classroom - Space is clean and safe.
● Psychological atmosphere - It is friendly and accommodating.
The classroom climate nurtures the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of
the students.
Here are some specific strategies for developing the optimal classroom climate. You may
consider these.
1. Learning environment addresses both physical and psychological needs of the student for
security and order, love and belonging, personal power and competence, freedom and fun.
2. Create a sense of order. For example, teacher should teach students how to:
 enter the classroom and become immediately engaged in the activity;
 distribute and collect materials
 find out about missed assignments due to absence and how to make up for them;
 get the teacher's attention without disrupting the class and arrange desks, tables
quickly and quietly for various purposes.
3. Greet learners as they enter your face-to-face or on-line classroom.
4. In a healthy and conducive learning environment, everybody belongs and knows each other.
5. Encourage class building activities like games and team activities.
6. In a conducive learning environment, success whether small or big is recognized and
celebrated.
Both approaches, either the traditional face-to-face or online, lead to positive results but in
different ways, so usually in practice both approaches are combined.

environment can be traditional (F2F), virtual (on-line) or a combination (Hybrid).

Participate and Assist
What will you do to assist your mentor in setting up a conducive learning environment in the
following conditions?
1. Bulletin Board Display
A always check the following; Topic, create a canvas for your bulletin board, gather
acedemic information to feature on the bulletin board, create a title, pick engaging
imagine to feature on the display, and add element
2. Small Group Discussion
I would advise assigning students to small groups so they can democratically discuss a
prompt the lecturer has offered. A group member is frequently chosen to present key
points from their conversation to the full class. While it would require more preparation,
leading a tightly controlled small group conversation could give students a better and
more inclusive experience.
3. Checking class attendance in a virtual classroom
We may now collect student attendance data through a variety of techniques, including
Google Forms. One of the greatest ways to monitor student attendance in online classes
is through a Google form. An attendance record can be made in Google and shared with
the class. The Attendance sheet with the time stamps will be self- reported by the class.

Notice
Learning Environment 1:

What have you noticed of the display in the class bulletin board? What message or theme does it
convey?

It is quite beautiful, and the colors and pattern go perfectly with the color of the wall. I can
claim that the bulletin board achieved its goal because it successfully informed the students
about things like the complete list of students, cleaners, classroom officials. and many other
things.

What makes it attractive to the learners?

The design in its color I think

Does it help in the learning process?

Yes, they develop their creativity with each activity they participate in, but it also helped
them become aware of and informed about the information displayed on the notice boards.

How?

It encourage the students to do artwork that are creative and beautiful.

Learning Environment 2:

If the teacher is using a distance delivery of learning through the modules, where is most likely the
learning space of the students?

Google meet is mostly likely the learning space of the students.

Can you describe?

It is kind of software program that enables many participants to join to same virtual
conference at their earliest convenience, including students, business people, and other
groups. It is also less expensive than the others online application.

How can you as a teacher help to make such environment conducive for learning?

By using virtual surface apps, enhancing their options, and offering them the chance to take
other online classes of face- to-face classes, I believe I can assist the students in2 creating
a Learning environment that is favorable to learning. In the modern era, we also take into
account the value of digital.

Analyze
The example above, describe two contrasting situation. The first shows that the
learners are in the same room or space while in the second, the learners maybe in different
learning spaces like home, study hubs or in extreme cases parks or under the trees.
As a teacher, in which of the two situations would you prefer to manage for learning?
Choose between Learning Environment 1 or Learning Environment 2
Explain your choice. Why? I think what I will choose is the learning environment one
which is the face-to-face set up because I can now clearly see how difficult it is for lectures to
impact knowledge on things that should be seen and experienced, exactly like laboratory
courses and OJTs. As a result of the simplicity of seeing one another and the ease of studying,
it is simple for both students and professor.

Reflect
Based on my noticing and analysis, I realized that
a.) The situation and the topics above are very now and its relevant to know.
b.) It's affects not just the students but also the teachers.
c.) We can expand the learning options of the students.
Write Action Research Prompts
Observe
What probable problem may result from the two situations of the learning environment?

I think the probable problem is that how sure the teacher that his/her students are learning
using this to Learning environment.

Reflect
What solution can I think to solve the problem?
Always keep an eye out for each students problems and development. Make sure every
quarter the students pass the activity to demonstrate that they completed the work. I
must let the students know that in order to accomplish that, they must also focus on
their own well-being and make preparations for a positive and healthy environment.

Plan
How should I do it?
How assess the students knowledge before and after the school year or semester, I
should first prepare a pretest and posttest. Always monitor their progress and
provide them choices over the type of education they get. Always take into account
and respectful their decision.

Work on my Artifacts

In not less than 300 words, write an essay on the topic: “My Conducive Learning Environment”

As a future teacher, I want to make sure that my classroom is conducive to learning. The first
quality is flexibility. I want to change the furniture in my classroom to have several roomy,
open activity areas where students can collaborate in groups. I will also supply whiteboards
and clipboards for individuals who lack access to a table or desks. Additionally, I'll make
advantage of outdoor learning areas as needed. Additionally, I'll put their work and the steps
they took to create it up on the wall to inspire students to study. I will meet with the kinds one
last time to talk about the kinds of settings they desire for their learning environment.
Openness is the second trait. I want to use Kids artwork to beautify the walls. The children's
self-esteem will rise as a result of this. For instance, providing six-year olds with a
comfortable reading area will inspire them to read more. The introduction of shared open
spaces with other classes is another way I think I can assist the kids in realizing their full
physical, intellectual, and emotional potential.
The availability of resources is the third factor. As a prospective teacher, I must keep in my
mind that maximizing my resources will not only help a child's learning and development, but
also save me time and money. I'm going to autho myself to get the materials I need to enhance
my childs educational experience. Examples include movies. PowerPoint slideshow, worksheet,
cabinets and files, novels, and dictionaries. This helps me and my students stay organized
while also enabling them to get the most out of their educational experience.
The fourth choice is real classroom. I will make sure that the placement of desks and work
areas, the aesthetics and appeal of bulletin boards, and the storage of materials and supplies
are all done properly in my future role as teachers. The Fact that the area is both clean and
secure will be evident to my kids.
The Last environment is the psychological one. I want to make my classroom friendly and
accommodating for kids when I become a teacher. They should talk about their opinions and
feelings regarding something. I'll make sure I can live up to their expectations as well.
