[21/12/66, 7:35:49 AM] ~ Syed Faizan Ali 🥰: *THE STORY OF ELLIS ISLAND*
🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝

The year is 1906, the date November 16th. Franz and Ulrike Schumacher and their
three children have just disembarked from the Hamburg-Amerika line steamship that
has carried them across the stormy North Atlantic Ocean from Germany.
Like the thousands of other people milling around them, they are totally
bewildered, caught up in a mixture of hope and apprehension, as they crowd into a
vast waiting room. The room sounds like the Tower of Babel, for few of those in it
speak a word of English. They speak German, Polish, Dutch, Hungarian, or Russian
maybe, yet they have come, seeking a new life in a new world; and now they are on
American soil for the first time. This is America! America! Or at least it is Ellis
Island.

[21/12/66, 7:35:53 AM] ~ Syed Faizan Ali 🥰: Do you ever wonder why there is a hole
on the cover of Bic pen and the pen of other brands?

The hole is a safety measure.

It has been discovered that kids (and even some adults) absentmindedly chew on pen
covers and can accidentally swallow the cover.

Once swallowed, the cover may lodged in the wind pipe and then choke them to
death.

If a pen cover is accidentally swallowed, the hole on the cover helps to increase
air flow and thereby give the victim the chance to breathe.

What's more, the hole on the cover of pens is a compulsory standard that all pen
brands must keep.

It was Bic that first started putting a hole on pen covers, but when it was
discovered that death by choking on pen cover reduced drastically because of the
hole, the hole thingy became a safety standard that all pen brands must maintain.

[22/12/66, 6:36:41 AM] ~ Syed Faizan Ali 🥰: 💊 A Beautiful Bird.

Dr. Norton’s occupation was a scholar of biology. He learned about all animals on a
daily basis. One day he met a sailor from a colony overseas. The man told Dr.
Norton about a talking bird! The bird fascinated Dr. Norton, so he told his
colleagues about it. They debated with him: no one thought a bird could talk. He
tried to persuade them, but they laughed at him. Nevertheless, Dr. Norton believed
the bird was real. His new mission was to find it. He wanted factual proof.

The next day he departed for the colony. The sailor he had met told him to look for
a man named Jai, who would be able to help him in his search. After a month of
sailing, Dr. Norton finally reached the colony where he met Jai. “I can take you to
where it lives. It lives by the volcano,” Jai said.

They left the next day. A week later, they arrived at the volcano. Every day they
walked around and looked for the bird, but they couldn’t find it. After one month,
Dr. Norton could not find the bird, and this depressed him. He decided to go home.
On the route back, he walked past some old ruins. He heard someone say, “Hello.”

“Who are you?” he asked. Dr. Norton looked up and saw a bird! Dr. Norton put the
talking bird into a cage. Then he returned home. He had made a significant
discovery.

[24/12/66, 11:39:40 AM] ~ Syed Faizan Ali 🥰: 💊 A Beautiful Bird.

He had made a significant
discovery.
