CEU 06211: CONSTRUCTION AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ASSIGNMENT II

To be presented in class on June 4, 2024; for grading and follow up discussion


Group 1:
You are organization has been doing research on analysing various aspects of the construction
industry to improve efficiency and productivity. Prepare a presentation to a Managing director
to give highlight of the study you have done to improve efficient and productivity. The
presentation must include, key definition of work study, objectives of method study, give
insight on work measurement and work measurement techniques.

Group 2:
From the given articles, summarize on how Zanzibar construction sites can improve labour
productivity. When giving summary also make reference to other authors on the same topic and
your personal views should strongly be reflected in your presentation.

Group 3:
Practitioners defined safety as “A thing is provisionally categorized as safe if its risks are
deemed known and, in the light of knowledge judge to be acceptable” also due to accidents
there is a loss of reputation of the contractors. You as the site technician one of your main duties
is to always keep site in a safety mode. Give a brief presentation to unskilled and skilled labour
on types and sources of accidents, measures on how to minimize accidents in construction sites,
safety and health welfare at construction site and application of safety gears, safety rules and
regulation and construction sites.

Group 4:
Construction projects suffers alot upon the issue of controlling cost in construction, most of the
project exceed the planned cost of the project. Give us highlight on how you can control cost
as a professional. Your presentation should give an overview on cost control in building and
civil works.
Group 5:

Your organization has set aside funds to construct 100 simple residential buildings. You, as a
site technician, have been selected to be give an insight on budgeting and different types of
budgeting on construction project also, managing director of your office has approached you
to prepare the project budget.

Prepare a presentation on the task assigned.
