STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

As a student who is motivated towards creating a career and has a passion for
development of Education, I am writing this statement of purpose to express my strong
interest in pursuing a Master's degree in education at [Name of Institution]. I am
enthusiastic about this field of study and believe that obtaining a Master's degree will
provide me with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve my career goals.

My name is Sherif Nuhu, I am twenty-Seven years old with five siblings, a sick mother
and unemployed father. I strive with other siblings to provide financial support for my
parent and also to fuel my education. I worked in a school after every vacation to get
money to support myself in school. My elder sister has been my helper since I started to
pursue the undergraduate course in school.I have experienced the pain of how it feels
to come from a less privileged background despite your desire for education and this
have encouraged me to extend my support to people who found themselves in similar
situations as mine. I have developed great passion to further my education to achieve
masters in education which I need this scholarship to make my aspirations come to
pass. I completed my undergraduate studies in education at Ada college of education
(Affiliate of University of education, Winneba). Throughout my academic journey, I
developed a solid foundation in theories of learning mathematics for upper primary,
guidance and counseling, psychology of learning in the middle childhood and gained a
deep understanding of the core principles and theories in this field. My academic
performance has consistently been excellent, and I graduated with bachelor of
education (upper primary).

During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to explore various aspects of


education .I found myself particularly drawn to psychology in learning.The potential to
make a meaningful contribution to this field by guiding and counseling learners deeply
fascinates me. I am eager to engage in advanced coursework and research that will
allow me to delve deeper into these subjects.
I have carefully researched different universities and programs, and I am confident that
[Name of Institution] is the ideal choice for me. The excellent reputation of the education
at [Name of Institution] is widely recognized, and the program's curriculum aligns
perfectly with my academic interests. I am especially impressed by the opportunities for
collaboration with esteemed faculty members, as well as access to state-of-the-art
research facilities and resources.

To further enhance my knowledge and skills, I actively sought out practical experiences
related to education. I had the privilege of working in extended teaching internship at
Sege Presby number two basic school. This experience allowed me to apply theoretical
concepts to real-world scenarios, strengthened my problem-solving abilities, and
enhanced my research skills. It also exposed me to the challenges and advancements
in the field, fueling my passion for further education.

Upon completing my Master's degree, I intend to develop skills, build community


partnerships, engage in professional networking, develop inclusive teaching practices
and establish a non-profit organization where I can create avenue for scholarship for students
in my homeland for the less privileged to also get the opportunity to further their
education. I envision myself working in the education support service sector where I can
contribute to education counseling field and make a positive impact. I believe that the
advanced knowledge and practical experience gained through the Master's program at
[Name of Institution] will equip me with the necessary tools to excel in my chosen career
path.

I am confident that pursuing a Master's degree at [Name of Institution] will be a


transformative experience for me both academically and professionally. I am
determined to immerse myself in the program fully, collaborate with faculty and peers,
and actively contribute to the academic community. I am ready to embrace the
challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to making significant
contributions to the field of education.
