What’s New

One important dimension in teacher education that is getting a lot of attention

is related to the use of instructional materials. Instructional materials are those
materials used by a teacher to simplify their teaching. They include both visual and
audio-visual aids and could either be concrete or non-concrete. These instructional
materials bring life to learning by stimulating students to learn. The use of
Instructional materials in the classroom has the potential to help the teacher explain
new concepts clearly, resulting in better student understanding of the concepts being
taught. However, they are not ends in themselves but they are means to an end
(Kadzera, 2006).
It is held that good teaching resources can never replace the teacher but the
teacher uses them to achieve their teaching and learning objectives. Some of the
instructional materials necessary for effective teaching and learning of Social Studies
include the chalkboard, models, graphs, charts, maps, pictures, diagrams, cartoons,
slides, filmstrips, radio, and television (Kochhar, 1991). The importance of the use of
these materials cannot be underscored.

What Is It

What is Basic Instructional Materials?

Instructional material, also known as teaching/learning materials (TLM),[1] are
any collection of materials including animate and inanimate objects and human and
non-human resources that a teacher may use in teaching and learning situations to
help achieve desired learning objectives. Instructional materials may aid a student in
concretizing a learning experience so as to make learning more exciting, interesting
and interactive. They are tools used in instructional activities, which include active
learning and assessment.[2] The term encompasses all the materials and physical
means an instructor might use to implement instruction and facilitate students
achievement of instructional objectives.
Instructional materials are resources with embedded information used to meet
specific course-based learning goals, outcomes and objectives. If a teacher uses
selected resources to teach their students during instruction and active learning, it’s
instructional material. This includes assessment and testing items that help students
retain information

Examples of instructional materials include:

Traditional resources: Textbooks, reference books, lesson plans, workbooks,
flashcards, charts and supplemental reading materials
Graphic and interactive materials: Physical objects, photographs, illustrations,
charts, graphs, maps, multimedia, movies and games
Presentation items: Lecture notes, slideshow applications and interactive
presentation software like Prezi, Pear Deck and Canva
Tests and assessments: Classroom assignments, quizzes, essays, standardized
tests and group project

What is Competency based Learning Module?

Refers to a well-designed and carefully developed learning materials (hard or
soft copy) that provide detailed instruction to guide and help a learner acquire the
necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude of a specific unit of competency on a self-
paced learning modality

What is Instructional Sheets?

Instructions Sheets is a piece of paper containing information that gives out
instructions in performing a task.
-are either work-related, school-related, or personal instructions.
The goal of the instruction sheet is to give the user all the steps necessary to
achieve and accomplish a single task or multiple tasks. The main purpose and
function of an instruction sheet is to give the user a step-by-step guide to accomplish
a task. Not only that, an instructions sheet also help the user to learn. While they
read the instructions, they are also learning. This means that the user is now capable
of performing a task without any instructions.
How to Write an Instruction Sheet:
1. Determine the task. Keep in mind the “end” or “completed” state. This way
you can identify the scope and detail of its instructions.
2. Identify the first step. This means that the first instruction should start from the
start. Make sure no step is missed out.
3. Begin your instructions with a verb. Begin every instruction with a doable
statement. (Examples: “Take”, “Fold”, “Cut”, “Write”, etc.)
4. Follow with the next steps. And so on. Every step must be concrete.
5. End your instruction sheet by stating that it is the last step.

What is Task Sheets?

A task sheet can be used by an entity for a project, a program, or any process
that needs to be executed for a specific time period. The specified sheet uses calls
to action that an individual or a group may refer to in relation to task listing. Just like
a work plan, task sheets contain information about the particular and necessary
assignments that an entity is tasked to deliver for the completion of an entire
procedure.
We have put together a number of task sheet examples in pdf and templates that
you may download and use as references in creating the specific task sheet that
your business, group or organization needs.

A task sheet can be defined as follows:

• Task sheet is one of the sheet examples that are used by entities to disseminate
information about the functions of their workforce.
• A task sheet can serve as an activity sheet, providing an organized listing of the
processes to be followed to ensure that a project will be finished in the expected time
of completion.
A task sheet is a printable checklist of the requirements of a program that
should be done in a specific time frame depending on the needs of all the
stakeholders of a project or a business process.

Usages of a Task Sheet

A task sheet can be used by the following entities:
* Students can use sheet examples in word used for task listing to ensure that they
keep track of their assignments, project deadlines, examination review dates, and
other tasks related to their academic life.•
* Employees can also create a professional task sheet to develop full awareness
about their duties and responsibilities

What is Operation Sheets?

An operation sheet typically outlines the step-by-step instructions or
procedures necessary to complete a specific task or operation. It’s a detailed guide
that can include equipment needed, sequential steps, safety precautions, and any
other relevant information to successfully carry out a particular operation. Are you
looking to create one or need help with something specific regarding an operation
sheet
What is Job Sheets?
Job sheets are documents with information about a field service job. Job
sheets can come in many formats and sizes. They are the glue that holds a job
together. Engineers can find details about a job, including the site contact and
address. They can also enter results as they complete the work, fulfil action lists and
mark it as completed once it is all done

What’s More

Answer the following questions :

1.Can you clarify the specific details provided in step three of the instructions sheet?
2.How do you troubleshoot if you encounter difficulties while following the
instructions?
3.Are there alternative methods suggested in the instructions for achieving the
desired outcome?
4.What are the consequences of deviating from the recommended sequence
outlined in the instructions?
5.Could you explain the purpose or significance behind certain steps in the
instructions?
