Basic IT Tools (Semester V)

Instructions:
I. Create a new Excel workbook.
II. Use a separate sheet for each question.
III. Label each sheet with the question number.
IV. Write the given question in the first cell (A) of each sheet. Below the
question, in cell B, write your answer using the appropriate formula.
V. Save your workbook as "Roll_Number.xlsx".(In place of roll number, write
your roll number.

1. (i) Write a formula using the appropriate function to return the character associated
with the ASCII code 65.
(ii) Use the appropriate function to find the length of the string "Excel 2024".
(iii) Write a formula using the appropriate function to format the number 1234.56 as
currency.
(iv). Write a formula using the appropriate function to find the position of the letter
"o" in the text "Hello World". What is the result?
(v). Write a formula using the appropriate function to replace the word "World" with
"Excel" in the text "Hello World".What is the result?

2. Use the appropriate function to find the price of the product with the ID "P102"
from the table below:

3. (i) Use the appropriate function to calculate the monthly payment for a loan of Rs.
10,000 with an annual interest rate of 5% over 5 years.
4. (ii) Use the appropriate function to calculate the interest payment for the fifth
month of a loan of Rs.10,000 with an annual interest rate of 5% over 5 years.
(iii) Use the appropriate function to calculate the principal payment for the second
month of a loan of Rs.10,000 with an annual interest rate of 5% over 5 years.

5. (i) Use the appropriate function to display the current date and time.
(ii) Use the appropriate functions to extract the year, month, and day from the date
"2024-11-10".
(iii) Use the appropriate function to find the last day of the current month.
(iv) Calculate the number of working days (excluding weekends) between December
1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, considering December 25, 2024, as a holiday.

6. (i) Use the appropriate function to determine if a student's score is a passing grade.
If the score in cell A1 is 60 or above, return "Pass"; otherwise, return "Fail".
(ii) Use the appropriate function to determine if a student passes based on two
criteria: if the score in cell A1 is 60 or above and the attendance in cell B1 is 75% or
above. Return "Pass" if both conditions are met, otherwise return "Fail".
(iii) Use the appropriate function to determine if a student does not have a perfect
attendance. If the attendance in cell B1 is less than 100%, return "Not Perfect";
otherwise, return "Perfect".
(v) Use the appropriate function to determine if a student qualifies for a retest. If the
score in cell A1 is between 50 and 59 or if the attendance in cell B1 is between 60%
and 74%, return "Retest"; otherwise, return "No Retest".
(iv) Use the appropriate function to assign letter grades based on a student's score in
cell A1. The grading criteria are:

A: 90 and above, B: 80 to 89, C: 70 to 79, D: 60 to 69, F: below 60

7. Perform any 5 mathematical functions.
