Cloud computing

Overview - Cloud Computing means storing and accessing the data and
programs on remote servers that are hosted on the internet instead of the
computer’s hard drive or local server.
Cloud computing is also referred to as Internet-based computing, it is a
technology where the resource is provided as a service through the Internet to
the user. The data that is stored can be files, images, documents, or any other
storable document.

Types of Cloud Computing Models

Cloud computing services are generally offered in three main models:
1. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): This is the most basic level of cloud
computing where users rent IT infrastructure such as virtual machines,
storage, and networking. Examples include Amazon Web Services (AWS),
Microsoft Azure
2. Platform as a Service (PaaS): PaaS provides a platform allowing
developers to build, test, and deploy applications without managing the
underlying hardware or software.

3. Software as a Service (SaaS): SaaS delivers software applications over

the internet on a subscription basis. Users access the software via a web
browser, and the service provider handles all maintenance and updates.

How Cloud Computing Works?

Cloud computing helps users in easily accessing computing resources like
storage, and processing over internet rather than local hardwares. Here we
discussing how it works in nutshell:
 Infrastructure: Cloud computing depends on remote network servers
hosted on internet for store, manage, and process the data.
 On-Demand Acess: Users can access cloud services and resources based
on-demand they can scale up or down the without having to invest for
physical hardware.
 Types of Services: Cloud computing offers various benefits such as cost
saving, scalability, reliability and acessibility it reduces capital
expenditures, improves efficiency.

Benefits of Cloud Computing

1. Cost Efficiency: Cloud computing significantly reduces the cost of IT
infrastructure, as companies no longer need to buy expensive hardware
or pay for its maintenance. The pay-as-you-go model ensures businesses
only pay for the resources they use.
2. Security: Cloud providers invest heavily in security measures, including
encryption, firewalls, and regular security updates. They also offer tools
for identity management and access control, ensuring that only
authorized users can access sensitive data.
3. Flexibility: Cloud services offer a high level of flexibility, allowing users to
adapt to changing business needs. Whether scaling resources up or
down, or adopting new technologies, the cloud offers a dynamic
environment that facilitates innovation and agility.

Applications of Cloud Computing

1. Data Storage: Cloud computing provides a secure and scalable way to store
and manage large amounts of data.
2. Application Development: Cloud computing provides a platform for
developing, testing, and deploying applications.
3. Disaster Recovery: Cloud computing provides a way to backup and recover
data in the event of a disaster.
4. Big Data Analytics: Cloud computing provides a platform for processing and
analyzing large amounts of data.
5. Internet of Things (IoT): Cloud computing provides a platform for connecting
and managing IoT devices.
