Using Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• You may use AI to research your theme (e.g., to find information about how the National Day is
celebrated in Bahrain).
• You may use common standard spelling- and grammar-check tools such as Microsoft Word and
Grammarly.
• You may NOT use AI to generate the text of your story.
• You may use AI to help create the illustrations of the story provided that the generated images are
original for your work, and that you use AI responsibly and avoid copyright infringement. If you
choose to use AI, adhering to copyright regulations is your responsibility.

Ethical Collaboration:
Given that this is a group assignment, it is important to ensure ethical collaboration between all group
members. This involves setting clear intentions and expectations for the roles of all group members,
completing individual tasks in a timely manner, putting your best effort forward, ensuring effective
communication among team members, and communicating clearly and respectfully among one another. As a
university student, it is your responsibility to adhere to these ethical practices. The following measures are
put in place to facilitate this process.
1. You will be asked to submit an outline to your instructor which highlights the roles of all group members.
You must seek approval from your instructor before you begin working on your project.
2. Your group members will be asked to confidentially rate your group work efforts on a scale from 1-5. You
will accordingly receive a percentage grade based on the average rating you receive from your group
members.
Example:

A group of students scored 18/20 on the book project assignment.

• Student A received an average rating of 5:
o This student will be assigned 100% of the final grade, which is 18/20.
• Student B received an average rating of 4:
o This student will be assigned 90% of the final grade, which is 16.2/20.
• Student C received an average rating of 3:
o This student will be assigned 80% of the final grade, which is 14.4/20.
• Student D received an average rating of 2:
o This student will be assigned 70% of the final grade, which is 12.6/20.
• Student E received an average rating of 1:
o This student will be assigned 60% of the final grade, which is 10.8/20.
Group members can also report noncontributing members, and the instructor has the discretion to assign a
zero in extreme circumstances. It is vital to note that these circumstances are best remedied earlier in the
semester as opposed to days before the deadline.
