Lab 2 – Configure Wireless LAN Authentication


Topology

Objectives
 In this lab, the student will design and configure wireless network authentications (WEP/WPA2)
using Cisco Packet Tracer The wireless GUI can be accessed through a web browser to assign the IP
address, subnet etc.

Tools and Resources


• Cisco Packet Tracer 7.3.x (please download it from Cisco Networking academy)

Step 1: Configure PC0/PC1


Make sure it is wired connection.

a. Configure the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway on PC0 (same with PC1)

1. IP address 192.168.100.1

2. Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0


3. Gateway 192.168.100.100

Step 2: Connect PC to Cisco switch and router


a. Configure Cisco 2950 switch and ISR4321 router

Step 3: Configure Radius AAA server
a. Configure the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway on Radius server (192.168.100.200)

WEP authentication:

Step 4: Configure wireless home router using its GUI using WEP

a. SSID is “COMP4074”, WEP authentication key is 12345678909876543210123456.

Step 4: Add wireless laptop and tablet


a. Configure the IP address, subnet mask using DHCP
b. Configure WEP authentication
c. Make sure laptop and tablet connect to the wireless router
Step 6 Ping Radius server from wireless Laptop

WPA2 authentication:

Step 7: Configure Radius Server

a. Configure the AAA service on the Radius Server, Shared secret: comp4074, add two users, one for
laptop and one for tablet.
Step 8: Configure wireless home router using its GUI using WPA2 Enterprise

Step 9: config WPA2 in wireless laptop and tablet


a. Configure WAP2 with users
b. Make sure laptop and tablet connect to wireless router
Step 10: Ping PC0 from wireless Laptop and tablet
