Data Organization
• The process of arranging and structuring data in a
systematic and logical manner to facilitate storage, retrieval,
and analysis.
• It involves categorizing, labelling, and structuring data in a
way that makes it easily understandable and accessible.

Methods & Techniques


• Categorization: Grouping data into relevant categories or classes based on similarities or
shared characteristics. This helps in organizing data based on common attributes or
criteria.
• Hierarchical structure: Organizing data in a hierarchical manner, where data elements
are arranged in a tree-like structure with parent-child relationships. This allows for
organizing data into levels or layers of increasing specificity.
• Relational databases: Using database management systems to store and organize data
in tables with related data fields and establishing relationships between different tables.
This facilitates efficient querying and retrieval of data based on various criteria.
• Indexing: Creating indexes or pointers that allow for quick and efficient access to specific
data elements based on specific attributes or keys. This enhances data retrieval speed
and performance.
• Data normalization: Applying normalization techniques to eliminate data redundancy and
improve data integrity. This involves breaking down data into smaller, well-structured units
and establishing relationships between them.
