TOPICS FOR SPEAKING TEST

TOPIC 1: How do you maintain a long and healthy life? (at least 3 things)
Taking care of your health is arguably the most important thing you can do for yourself and your loved
ones. To maintain a long and healthy life, I have followed these three tips.
Firstly, to keep myself healthy, I try to eat a balanced diet with lots of fruits, vegetables and lean protein
sources. Having a balanced diet will help you avoid gaining weight and causing excess fat in your body.
In addition, I try to walk whenever I can. it is an easy form of exercise that can be done by people at all
ages and fitness levels. It can help me maintain a healthy weight, reduce risk of serious diseases and
improve my mental health.
Finally, I have medical checkups regularly. Regular health check-ups are very necessary and will help
us monitor our health and prevent diseases in time when they are detected.
In short, maintaining a long and healthy life is very important for our well-being.
TOPIC 2: Talk about the generation gap in your family and some solutions to improve the situation.
(problem – solution, problem – solution.. OR problems – solution)
The generation gap can be a real challenge in families and mine is no exception.
My parents were born in an era when technology was still limited. Today, simple tasks like video calls
with relatives abroad or online banking become complex challenges for them. The increasingly advanced
technology will make it difficult for my parents to connect with the increasingly modern world, and
frustrated for me, having to explain basic functionalities repeatedly.
Explaining is key to being patient and open-minded. By teaching parents new skills slowly, from
simple to complex, and always listening to their sharings about using technology. In addition, encourage
parents to use technology regularly to open up new experiences. In the future with increasing
technological advances, it is important to adapt and help bridge the growing gap between generations.
In short, listening, sharing, and openness are essential factors in bridging the generational gap within a
family.
TOPIC 3: Describe a city that you want to live in in the future. (infratructures, pace of life,
atmosphere, environment, people..)
I would like to talk about Ho Chi Minh city known as Saigon - the biggest and most modern city in
Vietnam. It’s located in the south of Vietnam.
Firstly, the infrastructure, with an extensive network of bike lanes and public transport options such as
trams and buses, makes it both eco-friendly and convenient.
The pace of life is vibrant and dynamic, but it still maintains a relaxed and laid-back feel, ideal for
those who value a balanced lifestyle. There are needs quiet spots in the city, such as temples, that offer a
peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The street atmosphere is lively with cafes, bookstores and shopping centers. The environment with
fresh air, green spaces everywhere such as parks, urban forests, riverside walkways, ... will create a
relaxing space. In addition, the City will incorporate designs to address climate change, including
stormwater management systems, renewable energy grids and shaded areas to reduce temperatures.
People are friendly, polite, respectful and community oriented. Residents prioritize environmental
conservation, education and health, creating a cooperative, forward-thinking society.
The city I want to live in the future would be a haven of innovation, sustainability, and community,
designed for people to thrive while preserving the planet.
TOPIC 4: Talk about the causes and consequences of global warming. Add some measures that can
help us to improve the issue.
Global warming is currently a matter of concern for countries around the world.
The main cause of global warming is human activities that release greenhouse gases into the
atmosphere. Burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas to produce energy and deforestation are
the leading causes. In addition, industrial processes, agricultural activities and excessive waste
production contribute to the release of methane and nitrous oxide, making the problem even more
serious.
The consequences of global warming are melting ice caps and glaciers in the polar regions, leading to
rising sea levels, threatening coastal communities with flooding. In addition, extreme weather events
such as storms and droughts occur more frequently and severely. Ecosystems are also at risk; many
species face the risk of extinction. Furthermore, human health is affected.
Measures to tackle global warming include switching to solar, wind and hydroelectric power to reduce
dependence on fossil fuels, reforestation and forest conservation. In addition, adopting environmentally
friendly farming practices and reducing food waste can also help to reduce methane emissions. Most
importantly, governments should educate people about climate change and encourage environmentally
friendly lifestyles.
In conclusion, while the causes of global warming are rooted in human activities, we can combat its
impacts through proactive and sustainable measures.
