TONGONAN INTER PUROK BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT


Opening Ceremony Script
[Opening Music Playing]
Host 1 (H1): Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! In a short while, you will witness the
entrance of the players from different teams together with our very own Brgy. Captain, Hon.
Leonilo Lagata and SK Chairman, Hon. Markkim Rosalejos parading in cadence to the beat
of the drums.
Host 2 (H2): To start off our program, let us welcome our participating teams from the seven
Puroks of Brgy. Tongonan featuring Junior, Senior, and Husben categories for the basketball
tournament and women’s division for the volleyball league. Let's give them a warm round of
applause as they make their entrance.
H1: Ladies and gentlemen, leading the parade is our team from Purok 1, known for their
incredible energy and teamwork headed by our Brgy. Council, Hon. Tata Laurente and SK
Member, Hon. Alladin Bacon. Let's welcome them with a big round of applause!
[Purok 1 team enters the stage]
H1: Here comes Purok 1, looking confident and ready to take on the challenge!
H2: Approaching the court, we have the team from Purok 2. This team is known for their
strategic plays and strong defense headed by our Brgy. Council, Hon. Severino Buera and
SK Member, Hon. Ryan Tonido. Let's hear it for Purok 2!
[Purok 2 team enters the stage]
H2: Purok 2, looking sharp and determined. Best of luck this season!
H1: And now, let's welcome the vibrant team from Purok 3. They are celebrated for their
agility and quick reflexes headed by our Brgy. Council, Hon. Rogelio Potoy and SK Member,
Hon. Kevin Gullena. A big hand for Purok 3!
[Purok 3 team enters]
H1: Purok 3, bringing their energy to the court. We can't wait to see you play!
H2: Our next team is from Purok 4. Known for their resilience and strong will headed by our
Brgy. Council, Hon. Jun Abadilla and SK Member, Hon. Jamaica Buera, give it up for Purok
4!
[Purok 4 team enters]
H2: Purok 4, ready to showcase their talents. Go for the win, Purok 4!
H1: Drawing nearer inside the court is Purok 5. This team has a reputation for their
teamwork and unity headed by our Brgy. Council, Hon. Periander Banez and SK Member,
Hon. Joshua Corpin. Let's welcome Purok 5!
[Purok 5 team enters]
H1: Purok 5, always ready to leave a winning mark in any league. We look forward to your
games!
H2: Now, let's give a warm welcome to the team from Purok 6. Known for their offensive
prowess and sharp skills headed by our Brgy. Council, Hon. Nona Galula and SK Member,
Hon. Karen Baring, here's Purok 6!
[Purok 6 team enters]
H2: Purok 6, bringing their A-game this season. All the best!
H1: And finally, let's welcome on the horizon, our last but certainly not the least team, Purok
7. Celebrated for their dedication and sportsmanship headed by our SK Member, Hon.
Jaymark Almadin, let's hear it for Purok 7!
[Purok 7 team enters]
H1: Purok 7, always a pleasure to watch. Give it your best for your upcoming games!
H2: Ladies and gentlemen, let's give another big round of applause for all our participating
teams! We are excited to see you all compete and display your skills on the court.

[FORMAL OPENING]
H1: Today marks the beginning of an exciting season of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and
community spirit. We are thrilled to have all of you here! Let us cheer for all the players,
enjoy the excitement of competition, and above all, uphold the highest standards of
sportsmanship.
BOTH: Welcome to BRGY. TONGONAN INTER PUROK BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL
TOURNAMENT 2024!
H2: This tournament holds great significance for all of us. It’s more than just games; it brings
our community together, challenges us, and showcases the dedication of every participant.
Through these games, we strengthen our bonds, promote healthy competition, and inspire
each other to achieve our best.
H1: Now, to formally start our program, let us all rise to acknowledge our Almighty Father
and please remain standing for the singing of our national anthem.
H2: Please be seated. Now, to create a positive atmosphere for the event, let us welcome
the father of Brgy. Tongonan, Hon. Leonilo Lagata to deliver us the opening remarks.
H1: Thank you so much kap for that warm welcome. Once again, we are pleased to
welcome all of you in this afternoon’s affair and we hope that all participants can compete in
a healthy manner. Without any further ado, I would like to ask for permission to begin the
roll-call for every team participating today. Honored guests, players, friends and visitors, are
you ready?
H2: It seems like they can’t hear you partner. Once again, are you ready?
H2: Alright, may we ask everyone from different puroks to prepare your cheers as we began
to recognize the respective teams.
H1: Okay, let us start with, PUROK 1!
H2: PUROK 2!
H1: PUROK 3!
H2: PUROK 4!
H1: PUROK 5!
H2: PUROK 6!
H1: PUROK 7!
H1: That was such a fun activity, thank you so much for your cooperation. Now, to keep us
inspired and motivated this afternoon. Help me welcome on stage, Hon. Severino Buera to
give us an empowering message.
H2: Thank you so much kagawad for the stimulating and heartening words for our players
and for everyone in this occasion. At this juncture, let us gear up into the next very important
part of this event. May I ask everyone to please stand to witness the lighting of
sportsmanship Torch.
H1: Presenting to you our torch bearers, first up, Mark Jaylord Gabriel, EVRAA 2024 Bronze
medalist and EVRAA 2023 Bronze medalist in boxing. Followed by, Quenie Jose and lastly,
Rocky Balunan.
H2: There you have it folks, the torch has been lighted. Without much ado, may we now call
on our very own Brgy. Councilor, Hon. Tata Laurente for the Oath of Sportsmanship.
H1: Thank you so much honorable Tata. We would also like to give the floor to him to share
with us his message for this event. Thank you once again, honorable Tata. Now, that the
participants already had their oath, let us now proceed to most awaited part of this event. I
know you are all excited but at this point in time, to officially open our 2024 INTER PUROK
BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT, may I have the honor to call our SK
Chairman, Hon. Markkim Rosalejos. Let’s give him a round of applause.
H2: Thank you Hon. Markkim Rosalejos. There you have it ladies and gentleman! It was
such an honor to be part of this program, well then, may the best players win.
