1. STEPS OF DELIVERING A SUCCESSFUL ORAL PRESENTATION:


 THROUGH PREPARATION:
• One of the most important steps in planning for oral presentation is
that preparation of elements.
• Without proper preparation it may lead to various consequences at
the time of the presentation.
• Research and preparation both is essential before doing a
presentation to give the audience the best possible.
• It is very essential to know about the audience before the
presentation.
 REHERSSAL MATERIAL:
• This is also another essential aspect of doing a presentation that is
making rehearsal.
• This may help a person to eliminate various points which may
distract the topic from the audience.
• This step may help to reduce the stress as well as to increase
confidence in an individual.
• One of the best and common way of doing presentation is to
practice in front of a mirror.
• This will help any individual to know his own mistakes while
doing the presentation and he can make changes to himself.
 EFFECTIVE HOOK:
• Whenever we start a presentation, it is necessary to start with an
energetic and engaging statement.
• This step will help to build a quick rapport between the audience.
• Some examples of an effective hook include a joke, current affairs,
a motivational quotation, question or story.
• But we must make sure that it doesn't distract the audience from the
topic of the presentation.
 AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT:
• It is very important to engage the audience in the part of the
presentation so that we can make sure that audience are not getting
bored.
• There are so many ways to keep the audience engaged like asking
direct questions.
• By having direct eye contact which obviously creates a special
bond between us and the audience.
• Another activity is by conducting games which will allow the
audience to be more creative and engaging.
 MULTIMEDIA TOOLS:
• This is one of the modern methods of making presentations by
showing visuals to the audience.

This helps the audience to know more about each aspect of the
presentation.
• This kind of presentation can be used to the students at schools and
colleges and at work.
 EFFECTIVE DELIVERY:
• An effective delivery of presentation will keep the audience
engaged in every aspect.
• While presenting to the audience make sure to use the tone of voice
more effectively.
• That is slowing down and adding pauses in between the speech is
very necessary and using higher tone for effective approach to the
audience.
• Adding some interesting facts and jokes in the presentation will
also provide an effective delivery of presentation.

2. TYPES OF NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION:


➢ FACIAL EXPRESSIONS:
• Facial expression includes your smile, furrowing your eyebrows
and mouth movements.
• This type of non-verbal communication is nothing but an essential
one too.
• But we must be very conscious in how and where we are using it.
➢ BODY MOVEMENT AND POSTURE:
• The body movement and posture is a very important aspect of
non-verbal communication because it carries many different
meaning on its own.
• This includes how a person sit, walk, stand and position his head.
• These movement can help represent a person's interest, boredom,
tiredness and confidence.
➢ GESTURES:
• Gestures is said to be the movement with arms and hands at the
time of any activity.
• This helps to represent the point that a person is making to
confirm.
• It includes waving, clapping and raising hands.
➢ TOUCH:
• This non-verbal communication is mostly coming under informal
communication.
• This always happens between friends and family.
• This includes hugs, holding hands and kiss on cheeks.
HOW TO USE NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION IN INTERVIEW:
• It is very important to use non-verbal communication at the time of interview.
• Keep your posture clear.
• Good posture indicates a confident in the person.
• Touch is very essential non-verbal communication in interview.
• It doesn’t mean to hug or kiss but a confident handshake will represent a
perfect you in the interview.
• And always have a smile.
• It should not be awkward but a very perfect and confident smile.
• And dress perfectly for the interview.
• Because the outfit describes about the person who you are.

3. COMMUNICATION PROCESS FOR LAUNCHING A PRODUCT:


▪ The communication process for effectively demonstrating a newly
launched product needs target audience.
▪ Example, if the product is to provide Training programmes for students.
▪ Then definitely the target audience should be the students of inter college
or UG Graduates.
▪ If the target audience are new to the product, then more background
information should be provided.
▪ Once the audience are coming to know about the topic of the product then
there should be some concise message regarding the benefits of the
product.
▪ Another essential element is to show some video or visuals of the product.
▪ Try to add some testimonials of the product that has been shared by various
other audiences.
▪ This part will help to gain trust among the audiences.
▪ So that the audience can really understand the outcome of the product
which we are demonstrating.
▪ The demonstrator should be prepared to answer the question asked by the
audience.
▪ The final important aspect is that to get feedback from the audience.
Even if few elements are missed then it may lead to various consequences leading to:
▪ The demonstrator cannot expect the desired number of results from the
audience.
▪ If the elements are missed, then the whole presentation and the
demonstration will not reach the audience in a positive way.
▪ It may lead to decrease in brand image and reputation as well.

4. TYPES OF READING:
➢ SKIMMING:
o Skimming is said to be just going through the gist of the content in
the text.
o It is just to note the important information in the text or content.
o It is not necessary to remember each word when skimming.
o The skimming can be often done while reading newspaper, magazines
and brochures.
➢ SCANNING:
o Scanning is to find a particular piece of information.
o Just to note down the piece of information need to be known.
o While scanning no need to worry about the complicated words or
phrases.
o Scanning can be done on TV, Bus and train schedule etc.
➢ EXTENSIVE READING:
o Extensive reading can be done for general understanding of the
subject or the context for a longer period for pleasure.
o It includes reading a business magazine and journals.
o This can be used to gain knowledge on the specific topic that is read.
o Examples of intensive reading is a novel before going to bed.
➢ INTENSIVE AND DEEP READING:
o Intensive reading is used on short text where each information feels
important.
o It needs accurate reading of all the details given in the text.
o Intensive reading is required in a contract and insurance.

5. COMPONENTS OF RESUME:
I. HEADER:
The header in the resume should contains the details like:
Name
Contact Number
Email ID
Address.
II. RESUME INTRODUCTION:
Resume introduction is short note mentioning the relevant experience, skills and
other qualities.
It should be perfect because once when the hiring manager sees your resume he
should feel to read further.
III. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Whenever a relevant experience is mentioned, it should be mentioned with the
name of the organisation, Location, employment date and some points of the
job role and responsibilities.
IV. EDUCATION:
The educational section of the resume should be short and precise.
It should contain only School/college name, Degree, Graduation year.
V. SKILLS:
The skills section in the resume should be made easy to read for the hiring
manager.
To mention the skills section, try to mix both hard skills and soft skills.
VI. ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS OF RESUME:
Training and certifications.
Language skills.
Projects
Awards and honours.
Hobbies and Interest.
