1 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to describe the method of statement to be followed during
site demolition activities as required for the project.

This procedure shall be read in conjunction with the relevant ITP, outlining the
responsibility and the quality inspection/verification to be performed by various parties like
Contractor Engineer and client etc.

2 SCOPE
The scope of work of this method statement is for the demolition activities of existing offices,
which includes tiles, ceiling, dry wall partition with windows, doors etc, cabinets and other
structure installed in order to restore the property from its original condition before acquiring
the property from the client.

4 HSE REQUIREMENTS

Permit To Work (PTW)


A permit to work system shall be implanted to control the activities in a safe manner for the
protection of all personnel, assets, and environment. Describe the nature of work, involved tools
and equipment, work location details. Start date and time on the work permit. Job performers
shall be fully aware of activities, regulations and the permits shall be always kept available near
the work areas.

Personal Protective Equipment's


The contractor shall provide Personal Protective Equipment's are equipment's as required
for operation. All PPES to be used by constructions personnel shall be in good quality and
condition.
 Fire extinguisher
PPE shall be worn according to the PPE procedure
 Safety Helmet
 Safety Glasses
 Dust Mask
 Safety Shoes
 Safety Gloves
 Coveralls

Toolbox Talk (TBT)
Prior to start the task Engineer along with foremen and safety office shall conduct toolbox.
They must present in detail the task, potential risk, safety activity implementation and the
preventive control measure, PPE requirements, safe work procedures, all concerned
workers shall attend toolbox talk and the related records shall be maintained.

Safe Work Practice


Best operating practices shall be used to assure the safety and integrity:

a.) All activities shall be planned, supervised, and carried out in a safe manner under the
control of a competent person who knows the responsibilities.
b.) Equipment operation and transportation shall be carried out in a safe manner.
c.) It is essential that all personnel can communicate in the same language.
d.) The working area shall be maintained with good housekeeping and proper access.
e.) All equipment shall be suitable for the specified works and approved by Safety
Officer
Safety Induction
All staff & workers that will be involved in the project must attend the Safety Induction
provided by HSE personnel to get informed about the safety dos and don’ts when working at the
site.
Work at Height Training
The client will be conducting also work at height training and the contractor must ensure that
all the workers must attend the training for the safety of the workers’ well-being.

5 RESPONSIBILITIES
 Project Manager is the overall responsible for planning and implementation of this
Method of Statement and to ensure that the site team are aware of this Method of
Statement and all resources such as manpower, materials, equipment, and tools area
available to carry out the works, safely and as planned with respect to quality.
 Work site supervisor /PTW Supervisor will ensure that all the works are performed
safely as per latest approved for construction (AFC) drawings, specifications, and PTW
procedure. The supervisor will ensure the work is conducted in accordance with this
method statement and project specifications.
 Project Engineer/Site Engineer is responsible for direct monitoring and executing all
associated activities within this Method of Statement. They directly supervise de
execution of works in coordination with the safety engineer, QA/QC Engineers, Site
Supervisors, and Surveyors. During consultant inspection, they will always be present for
them to know the inspection comments for immediate action. Adheres to the Project
specific method statements, procedures, inspection Programs & HSE instructions to get

Examining the emergency exits to avoid any obstructions. Also, they have to review
if the fire doors are in working order .Ensuring that fire extinguishers are visible

the activities performed to Consultant Satisfaction with full coordination with the HSE &
Quality personnel.
 QC Inspector Responsible for overall project system implementation and maintenance
of the quality system. He has autonomy to initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of
nonconformity relating to the project, processes and quality control system &
performing inspection of all work in progress to confirm conformance with drawing,
specification, good engineering practices etc.
 Site Supervisor Responsible for daily activities and resources (labor, machinery, material
Etc...) Are effectively utilized and monitored to achieve HSE &Quality requirements.
 HSE Supervisor Responsible for daily project operation team in all aspects of safety,
occupational health, and environmental issues.
 Dump Truck driver Responsible for safely transporting materials to and from designated
locations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining the truck's
condition.
 Water Tanker Driver Responsible for safely transporting water to and from designated
locations, ensuring the safe operation of the vehicle, and complying with relevant
regulations.
 Helper Carry out their work under direct supervision by their Foreman and charge hand
and under instruction form the Site Engineer to ensure all works are undertaken in a
Safe manner.

6 TOOLS & EQUIPMENT


To perform works, heavy equipment and other related machinery and field-testing tools
required in connection with the site work shall be certified by an authorized third-party
agency and in good condition fit for the purpose before and during the period of work.

8 PRELIMINARY
8.1 DISMANTLING OF ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION

 Only qualified electricians with the supervision of Electrical Engineer shall


dismantle or remove existing electrical items such as lighting, conduits, wires,
switches etc.
 All items collected from the dismantling shall be sort out between re-usable
and non-reusable
 Reusable items shall then be handed over to the client.
 Non-reusable items must be removed from the site in a daily

8.2 DISMANTLING OF PLUMBING SERVICES

 Experience workers will be in-charge in dismantling the plumbing and drainage


pipeline, toilet and sanitary fixtures including manhole & UG pipes.
 All items collected from the dismantling shall be sort out between re-usable
and non-reusable.
 Reusable items shall then be handed over to the client.
 Non-reusable items must be removed from the site in a daily basis. 

8.3 DISMANTLING OF PLUMBING SERVICES

 Qualified workers must dismantle or remove items such as doors, windows,


ceiling, flooring materials and stairs.
 All items collected from the dismantling shall be sort out between re-usable
and non-reusable.
 Reusable items shall then be handed over to the client.
 Non-reusable items must be removed from the site in a daily basis.

9 WORK METHODOLOGY
9.1 DEMOLITION WORKS

False Ceiling

1. Remove any fixtures (e.g., light fittings) attached to the ceiling carefully.
2. Using hand tools, dismantle the false ceiling panels starting from one end.
3. Collect and store debris in designated waste containers.

Partition Walls

1. Inspect the wall for embedded utilities or cables.


2. Start demolition from the top of the partition wall using crowbars and hammers.
3. Remove materials section by section to prevent uncontrolled collapse.

Floor Tiles

1. Use chisels and hammers to lift and remove tiles from the floor.
2. Clear adhesive or mortar residues using scrapers.
3. Dispose of the debris into designated containers.

 All existing services will be disconnected from the property and confirmation
obtained that all services are no longer live by licensed professionals only. 

 The contractor will start demolition from ceiling down to flooring with the use of
provided tools/breakers

 False ceiling shall be demolished by removing piece by piece until all ceiling is
cleared and all removed materials are in floor.

 Once all ceiling is demolished, workers shall segregate materials which can still
be re-used from other materials to be disposed.

 A dust suppression system consisting of a fine mist water spray will be


available on site if required.

 Due care and attention will be taken to protect the adjoining property, a
supervisor shall observe all always works and be in visual contact with the
workers.

 The demolished materials will be moved and stored in designated area

 All waste products must be removed from the site in a daily basis and only be
disposed of by licensed waste carrier.

 During the demolition phase the site management will ensure that no portions
of the property are left in an unsafe manner overnight. The site is to be
inspected each morning before work commences.

10 IMPAIRMENT FOR FIRE ALARM AND FIREFIGHTING LINE

 We provide safety all existing fire alarm and firefighting line for the work area.
 The demolishing time we request QFZ team to turn off the fire alarm system for
safety.
 Work time 6am to 6pm we request them to turn off the fire alarm system (15-12-24
to 14-01-25)
 We provide additional fire extinguisher during the demolishing period.

11 PROCEDURE AND RESPONSIBILITY OF FIRE WARDEN


 Checking fire alarms, emergency exits, firefighting equipment and fire doors
 Testing emergency lighting
 Disposing of any flammable materials
 Conducting fire drills
 Establishing designated assembly points
 Ensuring all electrical systems conform to fire safety regulations
 Provide additional fire e extinguisher

12 WASTE MANAGEMENT

 Segregate waste materials (e.g., metal, plaster, tiles) for recycling or disposal.
 Transport waste to approved disposal sites according to local regulations.
