FOCUS / VOCABULARY I’m (name/years old), What’s your name…? How old are you?
Pre-lesson:-
1. Say, ‘Hello, Jim’ to a student, not using his/her real name. When the student looks
confused, say, e.g. Are you Jim? Then say ‘What’s your name?’
2. Repeat with other pupils and other names.(HOTS)
Lesson development:-
1. Teacher review the names of the four Super Friends using the pictures in the Student’s
Book.
2. Play the recording. Pupils listen and read to find the names and age of the cat (Tabby,
four) (CD1 10)
ACTIVITIES
3. Play the recording again. Pause after frame 2. Point to Flash running and ask Who’s this?
4. Repeat for the other Super Friends. Teach the word (super)power.
5. Play the recording again. Pause after each frame. Students listen and repeat.
6. Teacher distributes worksheet. (CBA)
Post-lesson:-
1. Put students into a group of five. Pupils each take a role of one of the characters
(including the cat)
2. Pupils play the recording. Pupils repeat in role and practice the role play in their group.

2. Pupils take turns to come to the front and mime for the class to say the name.

1. Teacher play the recording of the story with Student’s Books closed. (CD1 10)
2. Pupils try to do the activity in pairs.
ACTIVITIES 3. Pairs check with other pairs.
4. Check answers with the class. Have students say the names of the characters as a
response.

Spell out some of the words from the unit, e.g. H.A.T.

Play a true/false game to review colours. Pupils stand up when the sentences is true and sit

Point to, e.g a green object in the classroom, and say It’s red. Pupils don’t stand. Repeat it.
Lesson Delivery :
1. Hold up ach flashcards in turn. Say the word for pupils to repeat in chorus. Repeat it three
or four times. Stick the flashcards on the whiteboard.
2. Pupils look at the pictures in their Student’s Books and listen. (CD1 12)
3. Pupils point to the objects and the words when they hear them. Play the recording again.
ACTIVITIES
Pupils listen and say the words. Pupils practice pointing and naming in pairs.
4. Elicit which character student can see running in the picture (Flash)
5. Pupils listen and follow the chant in Student’s book. (CD1 13)
6. Play the recording again, pausing after each verse for pupils to repeat.
7. Do the chants as a class, then in groups.

Pre-lesson :
Stick the flashcards on the board (picture only). Write the wrong word under each flashcard. E.g. picture of
ruler, word: pen.
Invite pupils to come out in turn and swap two flash cards so that word and picture are a match for one.
Repeat until all the words and pictures match.
Lesson Delivery :
1. Give pupils time to look at the pictures first. Pupils listen and number the pictures. (CD1 14). Pupils
check in pairs.
2. Teacher plays the recording again. Pupils check answers with the class. Read each set of questions
and answers for students to repeat.
3. Teacher plays the recording. Pupils listen and say. (CD1 15)
ACTIVITIES 4. Pupils hold up a pencil for the first question and answer. Hold up a pen and another object for the
second question and answers.
5. Play the recording again. Pupils repeat in chorus. Pupils repeat the questions and answers three or
four times.
6. Teacher demonstrates how to play the guessing games activity with one or two pupils. Put pupils
into group of four. They take turns to ask and answer, using the language pattern from Student’s
Book. (21st CA)
7. Teacher distributes worksheet. CBA)
8. Pupils listen and write the words (CD1 16). (HOTS)
Post lesson :
Ask What’s this? And start drawing, e.g a cat on the board. Do the drawing slowly for student to guess.
Repeat for other words, e.g classroom and hat.
