(REVIEW RELATED LITERARTURE)

This chapter present the relevant literature amd studies that the researcher
considered in stregnthening the importance of the present study. It alao present
synthesis of the art fully understand the research for better comprehension of the
study.

Introduction:
Advanced technology has rapidly become an integral part of modern society, and its
impact on the education sector has been significant. Many schools have
incorporated technology into their curriculum to enhance the learning experience of
students, but there is a growing concern that technology may have a negative impact
on academic performance. In this review, we will examine the literature on the
impact of advanced technology on the academic performance of students.

Effects of technology on academic performance

The study conducted by Kirschner and De Bruyckere (2017) found that the
use of mobile devices in the classroom can have a negative impact on academic
performance if they are used for non-academic purposes during class time. This
finding underscores the importance of establishing clear guidelines for technology
use during class time to prevent students from getting distracted and potentially
hindering their academic progress. By setting boundaries for technology use,
educators can help ensure that students stay focused and engaged in their learning,
thereby maximizing their academic performance.
Ophir, Nass, and Wagner's (2019) study found that while there is a correlation
between the frequency of technology use and higher GPAs, this correlation may be
influenced by factors such as socio-economic status and academic ability. The study
highlights the need to consider these factors when examining the relationship
between technology use and academic performance. By taking into account these
variables, researchers can better understand the specific effects of technology use on
academic performance and make informed decisions about how to integrate
technology into educational settings.

Tamim and colleagues' (2017) meta-analysis of 72 studies found that the use of
technology in conjunction with traditional teaching methods can have a positive
impact on academic performance. The study identified that the use of technology
can enhance students' engagement, motivation, and interest in learning, leading to
improved academic outcomes. This finding suggests that technology can be a
valuable tool for educators looking to enhance their teaching practices and improve
student learning. However, it is important to note that the effectiveness of
technology use may vary depending on the specific context in which it is being
implemented. Therefore, educators should carefully consider the best ways to
integrate technology into their classrooms to optimize its potential benefits.

Set clear guidelines for technology use:

The study by Schreiner and Sjolie (2017) highlights the importance of clear guidelines
for technology use in promoting a positive and effective learning environment.
Students in the study reported that such guidelines were important for minimizing
distractions and improving their learning experience. These findings suggest that
educators should consider developing simple, clear, and easy-to-follow guidelines for
technology use in the classroom to promote a more focused and productive learning
experience for students.

The study by Judd and Kennedy (2018) suggests that clear guidelines for technology
use are important not only for students but also for educators. In the study,
educators reported that guidelines helped to ensure that students were using
technology appropriately and responsibly. The study further found that guidelines
were most effective when they were developed in collaboration with students and
were communicated clearly and consistently. These findings suggest that educators
should involve students in the development of technology use guidelines and ensure
that they are clearly and consistently communicated to promote responsible and
effective technology use in the classroom.

The study by Sabry and Shaalan (2019) highlights the importance of clear guidelines
for technology use in promoting academic integrity. The study found that guidelines
that were communicated clearly and enforced consistently were effective in reducing
incidents of academic misconduct related to technology use. These findings suggest
that educators should consider developing guidelines that clearly outline
expectations for responsible and ethical technology use and ensure that they are
effectively communicated and consistently enforced. By doing so, educators can help
to promote a culture of academic integrity and responsible technology use among
students.

The study by Cheung et al. (2021) highlights the importance of clear guidelines for
technology use in the context of online learning. The study found that guidelines
developed in collaboration with students and clearly communicated were effective in
helping students navigate online learning platforms. These findings suggest that
educators should consider developing clear and comprehensive guidelines for
technology use in online learning environments, and that involving students in the
development process can help to ensure that the guidelines are effective and
relevant to their needs. By providing clear guidance and support for technology use
in online learning, educators can help to ensure that students are able to access
learning materials effectively and achieve their academic goals.

The study by Sana et al. (2018) emphasizes the importance of clear guidelines for
technology use in promoting active learning. The study found that guidelines
developed collaboratively with students and communicated clearly were effective in
promoting engagement and participation in technology-based learning activities.
These findings suggest that educators should consider involving students in the
development of guidelines for technology use and ensuring that these guidelines are
clear and accessible. By doing so, educators can help to create a more inclusive and
engaging learning environment that promotes active learning and student success.

The Positive Impact of Advanced Technology on Students' Academic Performance

This study by (Carstens, Mallon, Bataineh, & al- Bataineh, 2021). Furthermore, the
internet connection also affects not just the students but also the teachers. This
results in students being left behind if they have no internet on the day of classes or
classes being interrupted if there is no connection on the teacher's side. This
information based on the research done is that not only students can benefit from
the use of technology but also teachers, but we cannot be sure if all students are
capable of using technology. It is also important to value others who have not yet
used to it and for teachers to have a critical way of teaching to provide their students
about some information in technology that can help them learn more about
technology. However these help both sides and be benifited by using technology.

This study by (Buabbas, A., Al-Mass, Al-Tawari &Buabbas, M., 2020). Negative effects
of technology also affect the health of its user, especially youths or students as they
are prone to this condition. It has been determined through research that the
overuse of technology devices is nowaday worldwide phenomenon that has been
linked to negative health impacts, particularly among children and adolescents. ased
on the information we find we know the great help of technology in our day-to-day
social activities. But the excessive use of it has a huge impact on our health this
problem is timely because more and more users are using it, Even though it helps us,
we also need to know and reduce its use if it is not an imporatant task. Adjust and
adjust its usage time only. So that it doesn't affect our health. Though the use of
these can make our work be easily done in time.
This study by (Saunders & Vallance, 2017).Students become dependent on
technology in doing their school works, it results in an extensive screen time. On a
daily basis, the students’ amount of screen time has almost tripled in the past 4
years.Based on the research done and the information that gives the use of
technology to young people has helped to facilitate their work with just a click,
answers or information connected based on what they want to research will appear.
Even so, it may take some time and spend looking for information that can come out.
As a result, young users are becoming more and more individual because they don't
have time to ask simple things to other people but they are researching them.
Therefore, they will expand their knowledge of the things that technology uses.

Accordint to the study of Song and Kapur (2017). Teachers will be able to inspire
and incorporate the entire range of pupils (from learning challenged to exceptional
and talented) by using technology into schooling. With the use of technology, some
teachers are adopting the flipped classroom approach. This allows students to study
the material at home and come to school to engage in more discussions, exercises,
and activities. Few studies have reported how to develop students’ problem solving
skills and enhance their conceptual understanding in flipped classroom in
mathematics inquiry. Based on the gathered information researched, students'
knowledge of technology is becoming more and more advanced, in addition to being
beneficial to teachers and students. Their work is much easier and simpler but in
return you have to be on the computer to keep track of every lesson available and
can be picked up based on the topics the teacher will study or the knowledge
available in the use of technology. Based on this understanding it is more accurate to
use technology as an academic material thing to people now adays beacause of its
essential and advantages when used.

Problems Encountered in Learning Advance Technology use for academic

Achievements
The study by Admiral et al. (2017) we need to identify and investigate how student’
relationship with computers impact their academic performances to understand the
real impact of computers on schooling. The study stated the relationship of students
that is using technology in their academic performances, in able for them to know
the real importance and impact of the use of technology. This finding gains
additional importance, comparing technology use and academic achievement in such
a tumultuous time for the world. However, technology can be a big help in able to
finish a work in the said time to lead a successful performance to their educators.

The study by Lee et al. (2019) Even with the change of technology over time, recent
studies support their theory that positive computer attitudes and positive computer
confidence continue to lead to better outcomes. The study are able to determine the
change of technology as the time goes by alongside of how much it will be a help to
students or people that will use it, and base on how they are willing to use it in a way
that it will benefit to them. Thus, these will need too much of attention in able to
learn and master the use of the technology. This finding would be able to realize how
much effort they will put in learning and in able to engage with an advance tech.

The study by Tang and Patrick (2018). Although researcher have found that the
students who play more videogames have worse result in school. This study
identifies that using technology regarding to the enjoyment of student may have a
great impact to their academic performance which may lead them to have a game
addiction and loses their balance between academic performances and the use of
technology and experience a greater problem. By doing so, educators may find it also
difficult to educate if a student doesn’t participate and indulge to any activities and
be distracted to online gaming sites.
The study by Helm et al. (2020).We identify that loneliness as the most relevant
construct from the computers context considering its impact on academic
achievements. This study is trying to understand how computers are impacted from
student’s point of view through their learning environment, motivation and
computer use. These finding identifies that there would be a great problems that a
learner would encounter in this situation, of having an unstable mental health and
thinking. These would affect their academic performances and may put their focus
on technologies in able to have amenities to their selves. So by giving them a proper
education they should also know the limits of using technology that will affect their
mental health.

So to sum up, it was clear and being stated that there is a big impact of promoting
technology to the students in relation that will help them to their academic
performances. So the reason why there are problems being encountered in learning
technology use for academic achievements, was its effects on our academic
performances. So we are able to set guideline in able to prevent the too much use
and know our limitation to technology. Technology has been slowly a growing
standard in society that impact many live in the society and has changed several
factors in the education system. Technology adequately used as a productivity tool
for students and teachers to research information and to be able to use these
advancement to share information and learn accordingly. According to researchers
technology has impacted attitudes and behaviours in a form that has accelerated or
decreased their learning capabilities in the classroom. This automating use of
technology in the classroom is expanded as a specific programs used by students for
learning and utilizing their skills while using these tools within the classroom.
