Group talks are one of the most important ways for students to learn how to think
critically and solve problems through active participation and sharing ideas.
Students learn how to talk to each other, say what they think, and listen to what
others have to say. This helps people get along better with each other and feels
more comfortable voicing their views. Also, group discussions help people work
together as a team and come together as they share different points of view and
work toward shared goal. It makes it easier for them to work together, respect
different points of view, and make choices that take everything into account.

and professionally.

Group discussions in the classroom offer a platform for students to learn

Conducting a group discussion


Conducting a group discussion involves organizing an ideal group of eight to ten
participants to ensure active engagement and diverse opinions.

The discussion typically lasts for 20 to 30 minutes. No official leader is
nominated, but a leader may naturally emerge based on knowledge and oratory skills.

The person conducting the discussion acts as an observer, announcing the topic and
evaluating the proceedings.
In some cases, a group leader or facilitator guides the discussion, particularly
for teaching, learning or complex topics. Providing a brief introduction and
initiating arguments to stimulate the conversation.

impression within the given time frame, typically 25 to 30 minutes.
