QUICK GUIDE

“This instruction note will briefly show you how to


use this file.”

 LOADING…

THERE ARE 3 WAYS TO LOAD AN ACTION (.atn):

-BASIC: To load an action using the “BASIC PROCEDURE”, go to your ‘Profile Files’ > click on ‘Adobe’ > go to the
folder ‘Adobe Photoshop CS5’ > go to the folder ‘Presets’> you will see ‘Actions’ folder > just copy the atn file
from this bundle and paste it inside this ‘Action’ folder.

Or paste this on folder address medium ‘C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets\Actions’

-SUB: To load an action using the “SUB PROCEDURE”, open your Adobe Photoshop > press Alt+F9 (that will bring
up the ‘Actions’ palette > now click on the upper right arrow next to Master Diameter, and then on Load the
'ACTION'.

-QUICK: To load an action using the “QUICK PROCEDURE”, simply double-click on the ACTION icon. It will
automatically open in Photoshop.

Any of the options listed above will serve you!


 MAIN TASK…

Open the photograph you intend to remove the background.

Test the three actions and choose the one that best separate the main image from the background using white or
black color. These three actions work differently on different images.

This action has 2 intervals. When the first interval stops; you will get an “Auto Action Stop” saying,

If the image/object is not dark enough and standout from the background, please use burn tool to darken ‘DARK
AREA’ and dodge tool to lighten ‘WHITE AREA’ and press play to isolate the image/object. But if it is dark/white
enough; just press play.
The short key for ‘Dodge or Burn Tool is O’.

Use ‘Dodge Tool’ to whiten the white area and ‘Burn Tool’ to darken the dark area of the image for the two
primary color separation. The white color can be the main image or the background. And black color can be the
main image or the background.

Once you finish whitening and darkening the white and dark areas, then you can play the action to complete the
extraction task.

 Test action 1 named “Transparency level 1”

Once the action stop and shows the STOP message. Click “Stop button” to remove the STOP box. And here is the
result of the first action level.
 Test action 2 named “Transparency level 2”

 Test action 3 named “Transparency level 3”


From the three transparency action levels, “Transparency Level 2” is the best for this image.

You can see that WHITE color is for the real image and DARK color is for the background.
Use the dodge tool to paint on the main image to completely whiten the image. And then use burn tool to
completely darken the background for extraction.

Once you finish with the black and white separation, please go ahead and press PLAY so that this action will
smoothly remove the background.
