Step 1: IT staff (people) develop
procedures for processing time cards (data)

Step 2: Employees (people) in the payroll


department use a program (Software) to
enter the time cards (data) in the computer.
Step 3: the computer (hardware) performs calculations required to process
the payroll and stores the results on storage media such as hard disk
(hardware).

Step 4: paychecks (information) print on a corporate printer (hardware).

ICT (information and communications
technology - or technologies) is an umbrella
term that includes any communication device or
application, including: radio, television, cellular
phones, computer and network hardware and
software, satellite systems and so on, as well as
the various services and applications associated
with them, such as videoconferencing and
distance learning.

Cloud computing refers to a distinct IT environment that is
designed for the purpose of remotely provisioning scalable and
measured IT resources.
