Tourist Agency had the idea for the app after the 2011 earthquake in Japan, when many foreign
tourists in the country were confused about what was happening.Jenny was on a business trip

information is in English, and there are plans to add other languages. The Japan Tourist Agency plans to

If somebody told you they were buildinga lift to take people into space, you would probably
laugh the idea. But in fact,if you listen scientists and engineers talking about the

The elevator would consist a carbon fibre ribbon 100,000 km long. One end would be

At the moment, it takes months or years o prepare a trip into space by rocket.Space

cost of space missions. The idea of a space elevator appeals' goveraments because it
would be far cheaper than sending rockets into space. It would be slower, but that would give
passengers more time to adjust the different conditions as they left the earth.
It may not be easy though:countries might argue' the exact location of the elevator.
But if the political leaders can cope" these problems and manage to take part"
the project together,it is certainly possible.
