FAQ

This is a collection of questions and answers on the ZEISS Quality Suite: installation, licenses, GOM ID.
If you have additional questions that are not listed here please visit GOM Forum: forum.gom.com or use the

How can I download the installer for ZEISS Quality Suite?


You can find the GOM software installer with the ZEISS Quality Suite on zeiss.ly/f54s. For the installation no
registration or GOM ID is needed.

How do I install ZEISS Quality Suite and GOM Software?


Please execute the downloaded installer on your PC. (You will need administrator rights to do this. If
you don’t have admin rights, please contact your IT department.) This step will install ZEISS Quality Suite on
your computer. If you already have a license for GOM Software 2022, the corresponding software product
will appear on your ZEISS Quality Suite dashboard. If you would like to test a GOM Inspect Pro, GOM Volume
Inspect Pro, GOM Blade Inspect Pro or GOM Correlate Pro for 14 days, you will need a GOM ID and can then
request your test license in ZEISS Quality Suite. You can try any GOM software product in viewer mode without
a license and without a GOM ID.

Previous software licenses (2020 or earlier) are not compatible with ZEISS Quality Suite.

Attention: Windows 7 is no longer supported; you will need Windows 10 at least.

How can I use the software without any license?


If you don’t have a license for the GOM software, you can use the GOM viewer. To do this, please open
the ZEISS Quality Suite and the GOM software will be offered in viewer mode only (GOM Viewer).

And if I already have a valid license?


In case of a valid 2022 license, ZEISS Quality Suite starts and your GOM software will be offered corresponding
to the available basic license.

How can I get a basic license for GOM software 2022?


Have you already tried a 14-day trial version for one of the GOM software variants? After the trial period,
you can continue to use the basic version of the software free of charge. You can obtain a trial version in
the ZEISS Quality Suite.

How can I upgrade my Pro license for GOM software?


Major GOM software releases require a license update. You have two options to update your GOM software license:
1. You can either create a license update request or a license update file within the GOM software (recommended).
2. You can create the license update file within CodeMeter (WIBU) (if no GOM software is installed).

After sending a license update request you will receive an e-mail containing a license update file. The last step is to
import the new license update file in the software.

Note: To update a license a valid Software Maintenance Agreement contract is required.

How can I transfer a license to a computer?


– If you want to use your basic license on another computer, you can generate a license for as many computers
as you like using your GOM ID
– If you have purchased a dongle, plug the dongle into the computer
– If you have purchased a key license, please contact [email protected].

Do I need administrator rights to use the GOM software?
No. Administrator rights are only required to install the GOM software.

Is a GOM ID required to use the GOM software, for example GOM Inspect?
No. You only need a valid license to run the software.

Do I need an internet connection to run the software?


No. The software can be used offline.

Why do I need a GOM ID?


You need a GOM ID to get personal access to the forum, training, sample data, packages etc.

What is the difference between ZEISS Quality Suite and GOM software?
The one-for-all platform ZEISS Quality Suite offers easy access to GOM software. It is the central place to start all
GOM services: launch the software, access sample data, attend eLearning courses, access the forum, and more.
You can also administrate licenses, updates and maintenance. The ZEISS Quality Suite gives you an overview of news
and events and provides you with tips and tricks to make the best use of your GOM software.

The installer provides both ZEISS Quality Suite and GOM software.

Why should I log in with my GOM ID when using the ZEISS Quality Suite?
When you log in with your GOM ID, you have access to more content within ZEISS Quality Suite such as the forum,
training, sample data, packages etc.

Why should I log in with my GOM ID when using the GOM software?
When you log in with your GOM ID, you have personalized access within the GOM software to the forum,
training, sample data, etc.

It also keeps your packages up to date with a direct update visualization within the software.
