Is there life on Mars? Many people have wondered about this question. Some writers of science-fiction
think of people from Mars as little green creatures. Others imagine “Martians” as monsters with many
eyes.
In studying this planet, astronomers have found that life may be possible on Mars. The first indication
of this is that Mars has seasons, just like Earth. In other words, Earth's seasons, such as spring or
summer, occur on Mars too. Because these seasons exist, it may be possible for (1) ____________and

redecorate or enlarge a house.
Why have How-to books become so popular? Probably because life has become so complex. Today
people have far more free time to use, more choices to make, and more problems to solve. How-to
books help people deal with modern life.

Traveling is one of the most popular forms of recreation in the USA. Most American employees
receive an annual vacation with pay, and it is a good time off for traveling. Traveling within the country
is popular because foreign travel generally takes more time and money. However, Americans who wish

Every year about 13 million Americans travel abroad. The most popular vacation periods are

can adjust their schedules sometimes choose vacation in the autumn. American vacationers often travel

highways connect the major cities. They enable vacationers to travel at an almost steady speed of 55 to
65 miles an hour. Tourists that want to travel faster often fly to their destination and then rent a car to go
