For setup the start address of the MAP and the Axis, you should use the Mark 1, Mark 3 and Mark 4 (like described
previously). After that, click to “New MAP” to go to the Map manager dialog:
Swiftec already provides some standard formulas that can be used in Bosch:
34
SWIFTEC MODULES
By using this direct formulas Swiftec will automatically fill the correct value in factor and offset fields and convert
given values:
BAR - converts given values into milibar
C - converts given values into values
% - converts given values into a percentage
1 - no formula given
It’s possible to choose from one of the three formulas in order to get correct values of Offset and Factor.
After that all values are filled according to users choice:
If you want to save the newly created map to your disk, you just have to click
“save map” in Map manager menu, and a UMAP file (user map file) will be
created. It will be automatically saved to your database too. The next time you
load this project, the saved map will be loaded automatically.
When you save your user map to the disk, Swiftec will ask about the checksum settings for it.
35
AUTOMATED MODULES
For tuners that have access to special information such as A2L and DAM files from manufacturers,
Swiftec allows the use of that information by detecting the number of available maps on the
loaded file and its correct offset.
Additionally, after opening the A2L/DAM project Swiftec will use information contained inside such
as conversion values, map names, axis names among many other things to build your own maps
accordingly to manufacturers information.
With the increase of cars being equipped with this option in order to obtain a reduction of NOx
emissions, as this element is expensive to maintain by car owners and with the increase of custom-
ers' requests, we decided to add this as a module to Swiftec.
Our current solution is unique and it's working by a simple switch for example on VAG car group.
The Active Grille Shutter (AGS) is a mechatronic system that performs a key function of selectively
allowing or restricting airflow with an automatic opening and closing of shutters based on
real-time needs.
The most common problem is actuator fault or the need to remove all the system in order to create
room for an intercooler upgrade. When this happens, the vehicle gives MIL warning problems
related to system management of the shutters.
By using a one click solution from Swiftec, that system will no longer give any malfunction warnings.
BMS (Battery Management System) / BPCM ( Battery pack control module) is the unit responsible
for the management of critical features such as voltage, temperature and current monitoring,
battery state of charge (SoC) and cell balancing of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries.
When this unit detects some anomaly with the battery, like under voltage cell capacity, triggers a
safe mode that stops the car from starting and battery charging event. Even when the battery is
changed, this unit keeps raising the problem which causes replace by a new unit from manufactures.
In those situations, BMS/BPCM Recovery Module, as usual with “One Click” solution, will allow the
costumers to restore BMS/BPCM units, without needing to replace it for a new one.
When a harder tune is required by customers, one of the first parts to be changed is the boost
pressure sensor and, of course, when you change it, it is needed to change some settings for it in
ECU firmware too. This can sometimes be tricky, as some maps are hard to find and require a good
level of knowledge.
Swiftec makes that job easy. For that, you only need to choose what sensor you are going to install,
and at a click of a button the sensor is now re-calibrated on the ECU for the new correct value.
36
AUTOMATED MODULES
The name burbles/crackles is in fact the slang name for overrunning the fuel cut off (FCO), basical-
ly by adjusting the delay of the FCO and some other modification, its possible to make your car
sound different, more sportive and more aggressive.
Obviously, to use this module, we recommend using it in cars equipped with a special exhaust pipe.
Indispensable module also built into Swiftec that will automatically detect a checksum algorithm
to be used in your loaded file, saving the tuner some precious time and avoiding possible errors
when programming an ECU.
We all know the noise of the engine when we start the car and we can hear, while the lambda is getting hot
and the cold start is acting, the noise of our car is different bu,t if we can eliminate this, why not do it?
This module automatically makes the deactivation of all DPF/FAP related maps and allows the
tuner to run a car without having DPF/FAP installed in it.
We have been working hard to keep this module updated to most recent cars and to assure the
best result.
DTC removal module allows our customers to remove individual error codes from ECU. It’s very
useful when customers want to remove some parts from electronic systems such as EGR, intake
flaps, etc.
Simply put the code you wish to erase, click remove and only this code will be erased from ECU,
making this job as simple as possible and effective for our customers.
This Swiftec built-in module allows a user to obtain automatically all information contained in a
loaded file.
Additionally, if the loaded file contain in its name info such as brand, model and engine type this
will also be detected by Swiftec that will fill each respective field on project properties.
37
AUTOMATED MODULES
Exhaust gas recirculation valves were introduced in the car market as a way to reduce gas
emissions. Manufacturers created a way to recirculate already burned exhaust gases over to
intake manifold in order to be re-burned and this way lowering their emissions. This is basically the
function of a EGR valve.
The main problem of this concept is that this exhaust gases bring a lot of engine oils and fumes,
that after some time tend to block the intake manifold lowering its efficiency dramatically.
Swiftec's EGR Removal Module allows the tuner to close the EGR valve all the time, avoiding the
build up of dirt in intake manifold and all troubles associated with it.
The Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP) is used to prevent gasoline vapors from escaping
into the atmosphere from the fuel tank and fuel system. The most common problem with the EVAP
canister is a faulty purge control that causes serious problems.
Running this module solution combined with readiness EVAP system, the vehicle will not have any error.
The Exhaust Flap is a valve installed in the final muffler and this part biggest objective is reducing the
noise in a cold start condition. When this module solution is applied the valve will be open in any condition.
This is also a valid option when final muffler is removed. In some VAG vehicles, this valve is also
controlled by selecting the Sport Mode.
Knowing that some cars have issues with the Flaps / Swirl and the repair costs being high, most
commonly seen on some VAG group cars, we created this module to allow our customers to simply
deactivate the flaps by disconnecting them and removing its functionality, this way fixing
problems in many vehicles, saving their owners from spending a lot of money on a new unit.
GPF/ OPF/ PPF are the current names for an emission after-treatment technology developed to
control emissions of gasoline direct injection engines.
As we all know, after some time of usage and some kilometers done, some cars develop a hot start
problem and customers complain that engine turns more times now that it used to turn before, so
the car starts. After this, problems appear in battery (it will drain battery much quicker) and it will
cause starter problems and all related parts will also be affected.
Swiftec developed this module so that this problem does not occur anymore in the future, saving
your car from more problems.
38
AUTOMATED MODULES
Immobilizer is a very important part of newer cars electronics. They assure that the car cannot be
stolen and offer some degree of protection to users, but some issues related with it are now a
problem in many of today's cars and customers need to pay for a brand new ECU when something
goes wrong. Tuners also face some troubles when these problems happen. They are forced to use
a new original ECU so they can fix it.
With this brand new module in Swiftec, our customers will be able to use another ECUs on their cars
just and remove the immobilizer.
How many of us pressed quickly the accelerator pedal so we can overtake a car or simply to have
fun with it and... what we get is this delay of the gearbox to go down one gear and the car instead
of immediately getting faster with this delay you actually go it slower!
With this new module you can simply deactivate function of kick down.
This module will allow customers to remove lambda errors when a new cat is fitted or when it’s removed.
The working procedure follows the way of our other already existing modules. After inserting all
information on project properties about car brand, ecu type, etc. Swiftec will automatically detect
it and when saving file will ask if the lambda is to be removed or not.
We hope with this new module meets some of our customers demands, and of course we will keep
adding more ECU models.
Enabling launch control on your car, means that Swiftec will automatically setup the software so
that until 4-6 KM/H the RPM is limited to 2500-2750rpm.
Basically it will control the amount of power on to the wheels until the perfect traction is achieved.
LAUNCH Once the pre determined speed is reached the RPM Limiter will automatically move to normal on
RPM and maximum power is passed into wheels.
Launch Control, AntiLag and NoLiftShift Service for VAG MED9.1. ONLY Manual gears cars are
currently supported! Files are provided over Ticket System.
LAUNCH
MED 9.1
MAF deactivation is not by any means recommended as it is a very important sensor for fuel
regulation. But sometimes (normally on high powered tuned cars) the MAF reading hits the high
value and reaches maximum allowed voltage read by its sensor, creating a fault code registration
and normally a safe mode.
With this module it's possible for customers to simply disconnect the MAF and the car will run without
any safe mode and can achieve more power without any concerns of having additional problems.
39
AUTOMATED MODULES
When the maps are not found under the map detection module, Swiftec allows the creation of own
maps offering the possibility of using formulas to obtain correct conversion values and predefined
formulas for Bosch ECUs such as Temp, Pressure, Percentage.
Swiftec users also have the possibility of saving their own created formulas for future use.
For sure the most important module in tuners view as Swiftec will show the user the various
possible maps contained on a ECU firmware.
This is an unique artificial intelligence module. As the Swiftec slogan says "Forget The Limits", we
at Swiftec take this very seriously and it’s because of those old limits that we insist in forgetting
that we this module was created. Forget map files, Forget driver files, Forget setting files, Forget
xml files! Swiftec now does all automatically!
This module was created so tuners can prevent the copy of their work, protecting a file to be read
by others via OBD with any tool.
It also works automatically such as DPF/FAP removal module. When saving file, user will be asked
if they want or not to protect their work.
On our Online database Swiftec users can find .map files. These files will "offer" users the possibili-
ty to modify many ECU parameters by adding to them the most important maps with addresses
and descriptions.
Everything is included, like boats, cars, trucks, snowmobiles or bikes, and all can be obtained from
our online server and can be downloaded 24h per day, 7 days per week.
It is similar to burbles activation but with a different goal. Popcorn Activation module allows our
customers to control the sound of rpm limiter, if the desire is to make it sound hard and popping.
Swiftec makes it for you.
Obviously, to use this module, we recommend using it in cars equipped with a special exhaust pipe.
40
AUTOMATED MODULES
The Readiness Code is a set of 8 bits, each of which corresponds to one monitored emissions
"system" in a vehicle with OBD-II.
When all readiness bits show "Passed", it means that all systems have been checked and the
vehicle passed the on-board tests.
This Swiftec module makes the update procedure simple for our users.
When starting the software, Swiftec checks if there are any updates, either to checksums or to
main software, and a simple click will update its version, keeping every latest software addition
possible, for users with an active license.
The secondary air injection system exists to help clean up the leftovers on the exhaust. It's a valve
that alows to get fresh air from the inlet manifold and sends it directly to exhaust.
The main problem is that the valve itself, with such a hard work for many times, tend to fail.
With Swiftec SAP Removal Module you can delete this component without secondary problems.
This feature is unique to each car and it will be setup to match the car’s absolute RPM limiter, in
order to protect the engine.
By default a modern car limits the maximum revolutions per minute (RPM) of the engine, when it is
in Neutral/Park mode. However, removing this limiter can have some advantages for certain tuning
enthusiasts.
One of the benefits you may experience when removing this soft rev limiter is being able to hear
the results of Burbles or Popcorn in Neutral/Park mode, something that may be impossible for
some modern cars, since the soft rev limiter usually kicks in before the aforementioned modules
can take effect.
Another benefit is an enhanced engine sound and being able to hit the car’s natural rev limiter even
at a standstill.
As the name says, this module allows tuners to remove speed limit that manufacturers introduce
in many cars.
We have also been developing a unique solution for MEDC17 that will work via Switch.
This speed limitation will be handled by simple switch that Swiftec will recognize automatically and
our software will disable it.
41
AUTOMATED MODULES
BMW Fxx that have sport gauges in central module display with HP/NM can now also be
recalibrated automatically with Swiftec to suit new tuned software values.
Final customers will now be able to see that their car was "really" tuned by checking the new values
on sport gauges.
Everybody knows that sometimes startstop can be very annoying, as everytime the car is driven it
has to be switched off to avoid car switching itself off.
With this module, startstop function stays inactive so the car will behave its combustion engine on
all the time, and the driver doesn’t need to worry anymore to disable this function all the time.
As you know, in newer ECUs, many tuners face now a new problem, the Torque Monitoring function.
This function makes the ECU detect if the values of Torque are inconsistent with predefined ones
and this will make the car go into safe mode when apparently all is OK.
Well after many requests, we provided to our Swiftec customers a workaround to this.
This module will allow everyone to tune a car and stop being worried about this feature contained
in most modern ECUs.
Throttle valve actuators regulate the air or mixture supplied for the combustion engine.
Depending on the engine concept, this serves different purposes. In the case of petrol engines,
speed and power output are regulated by means of fresh air or mixture dosing. Diesel engines
generally do not need a throttle valve. However, in modern diesel cars, throttling the amount of
intake air facilitates precision control for exhaust gas recirculation and stops the engine from
shaking when the ignition is switched off.
With Swiftec, it's possible to import calibration files directly from VAS DVD and obtain original files
(PROCESSOR and EPROM).
