• For the above Fuel, If an engines flies at M=0.9 at fully throttled condition.
The compressor outlet temperature is 640K. Inlet temperature of the
turbine is restrained at 1650 K. The fuel has the Hpr=42800 kJ/kg. Cp
values at compressor exit and turbine inlet are 1.004 and 1.24 kJ/((kg.K)
respectively. Find the F/A ratio assuming that combustion efficiency is
100%.

• An aircraft engine uses hydrocarbon (propane) as a fuel. The relative
density is 0.504. Calculate the fuel to air ratio for the following conditions
• At Stoichiometric
• If the hot flow and cold flow specific heats are 1.23 and 1.004 kJ/((kg.K)
respectively. The temperature at the turbine is 2.68 times the compressor exit
temperature. The initial combustion chamber temperature is 670K. Find the
equivalence ratio
• Suddenly the aircraft has to operate at 70% of the air supply than stoichiometric.
Find Fuel to air ratio in that condition.

• The stagnation temperatures at the inlet and exit of a combustion
chamber are 600 K and 1200 K,respectively. If the heating value of the
fuel is 44 MJ/kg and specific heat at constant pressure for air and hot
gases are 1.005 kJ/kg.K and 1.147 kJ/kg.K respectively, the fuel-to-air
ratio is…….. ??

An aircraft engine uses kerosene as a fuel. The specific gravity is 0.81. The
combustion chamber runs for 180 s that delivered the combustion
efficiency of 0.97. The total quantity of the fuel ingested during the
operation is 1100 liter. Find the heat released during the operation.
