I would like to thank to Swoyambhu International College for giving me this

wonderful opportunity to compose the "Khalti" research report. My knowledge of
Nepal's digital wallet and its significance in the modern economic environment
has grown. In addition, I loved the challenge of doing research and had the
chance to develop our skills, knowledge, and language. To balance this report
with my text, many attempts have been made to bring it up to date. Despite these
attempts, there can be weaknesses about this subject. As a result, I am eagerly
await your comments and ideas for how to make the report even better. I will
take those ideas very seriously and acknowledge them.

Eventually, I would like to thank my parents and friends who helped me to

prepare this report within a time frame.

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of study

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) program are

required to write a report in the seventh semester that directly relates to the e-
commerce industry in Nepal. As Tribhuvan University students, we are also
required to write an e-commerce business report. The purpose of this research is
to inform readers about the Khalti wallet payment gateway. This report was
written according with the guidelines set down by Tribhuvan University's Faculty
of Management. The requirements and steps the researcher took to construct an
e-commerce project are outlined in this project report. Understanding the Khalti
digital wallet's SWOT analysis is another benefit of this research. The network
security infrastructure and several business strategies that Khalti uses are also
examined in this report.

1.2 Statement of problem

Digital payment systems were first introduced in 2002, but as of 2020, we are still
in the early stages of development with many gaps and improvements to be
adopted.

● The system has only recently entered the market, but due to unfavorable
policies and frameworks, it has not been well implemented.

● Many people are unable to use digital payment systems because they lack
technological knowledge.

●Some apps are intentionally created to appear trustworthy and secure, but in
reality, they make it easier for individuals to steal sensitive personal information
or perpetrate credit card fraud.

Certain apps are made specifically to appear reliable and secure, but in practice
they just make it simpler for thieves to obtain credit card fraud or other personal
data. Although we're making progress in the digital realm, we still haven't caught
up to the issues listed above. Getting beyond these issues will undoubtedly result
in the modifications to our digital payment system that we desire.

Khalti’s clients have to say about the Khalti application.

Conclusion

A digital payment gateway called Khalti enables both online and offline payments.
Paying using Khalti is simpler and safer. To protect data, Khalti implements SSL
technology. In addition to using a secure VPN connection while transacting with
partner bank accounts, it securely encrypts private and personal information
before transmission. More than 250 employees, 70,000+ agents, 60,000+
merchants, 50+ banks, 1,000+ cooperatives, and over 3.2 million users are a part
of Khalti. Recently, Khalti was recognized as a Digital Opportunity/Inclusion Award
winner and an ISO 27001:2013 certified firm (Information Security Management
System) by the WITSA Global Innovation & Tech Excellence Awards 2022. Every
day, they process about three hundred thousand transactions.

Recommendation

Even though Khalti is a secure and safe way to make electronic payments in
Nepal, there are a few areas where we would love to see Khalti's services
upgraded. The areas that require improvement are as follows:

 Regularly updating security mechanisms to ensure reliable online

transactions.
 Make the user connection system easier to use for those with less
education.
 Set up backup servers to avoid power cuts. 3. Allow 24/7 client support
from any location in Nepal.
 Establish payment gateway infrastructure outside of Nepal's borders.
