Pictorial Drawing
Pictorial view is a three dimensional one which is used to visualize an
object in one view.

Pictorial Drawing is classified as:

• Perspective
• Oblique
• Axonometric
Perspective

The perspective drawing is relatively complicated to produce and is

used mainly by the architects. A perspective projection is not suitable
for working drawing.
Oblique

Oblique drawing is a drawing in which the front view of the object is

drawn to the correct size, and its side surfaces are drawn at an angle to
give a pictorial appearance.
Axonometric

A method of representing 3D image of an object in which the three faces of

an object are seen on the plane of projection (picture plane) and the
projection lines from the object are perpendicular to the plane of projection.
Each side of the cube represents one of the orthographic view.

Three types:
• Isometric Projection
• Dimetric Projection
• Trimetric Projection
