Deep Dive into the Horror

Film "Lembayung"
From Group 5

SCENE TEXT
SUTAN: Hi everyone! Welcome
Introduction to our podcast. Today we will
discuss the latest Indonesian
horror sensation, with me Sutan

REZA: I'm Reza

FATAN: I’m Fatan

SALSA: I’m Salsa

RESTU: And I’m Restu

FATAN: There are a lot of horror

films in Indonesia, right? Are
there any films that you like?

REZA: I have one movie that’s I

like so much its called Siksa
Kubur By Joko Anwar, it gives
me goosebumps

Restu: For me it’s the movie

Kisah Tanah Jawa, this movie
combines elements of local
horror, mystical Javanese
culture, and the beauty and
mystery of volcanoes.
Fatan: my fav horror movie is
The Exorcist, because it
successfully creates a truly scary
and convincing horror
atmosphere. The special effects
used at the time were very
innovative and managed to
make the audience's hair stand
on end. Iconic scenes such as
the 360-degree rotating head
and the terrifying sounds are still
etched in the minds of many
people. The story of a young girl
possessed by an evil force and a
priest's efforts to save her is
very captivating and full of
tension.

SUTAN: Mine is Pengabdi Setan

2 because the sound design is
very load I like something that
very noisy, especially for movie.

Salsa: For me it’s the movie The

Medium, Because its show the
shaman culture in thailand.

Reza: Wow, everything is good,

right?

SUTAN: What do you think

about the latest horror film in
Indonesia? I heard there is a
new horror film

REZA : Oh yes, that's right, the

film Lembayung seems to be
being talked about a lot

FATAN: Lembayung, I know that

I've watched it

SALSA: Me Too! It was so scary

from start to finish.

RESTU: I'm really curious about

the original Twitter thread that
inspired the film.

SUTAN: That's right, in Twitter

its going top rated and hits.

FATAN: That's right, they show a

lot of jump scares in the film

SALSA: The visual effects are

amazing, especially in the
hospital scenes.

REZA: I liked the way they

developed Pica's character.

RESTU : Do you think the film

Main Segmen succeeded in capturing the
essence of the viral Twitter
thread?
REZA: I think they did a great job
with the scary atmosphere. But
they made some changes to
make the story more dramatic.

SUTAN: Yes, I agree with that,

but that would make the film
more interesting

FATAN: Right, cuz on Twitter the

story is quite short

RESTU: So what do you think

about the horror atmosphere in
this film?

SALSA: I think the visuals

displayed are very interesting

SUTAN: yes I agree, especially

with the addition of a tense
voice.

FATAN: yeah dude, the jump

scare in this film is also quite
depressing

REZA: Wow, I agree, it really

gives me goosebumps

SALSA: well, I Like the color

palette they use. It makes
everything feel unsettling.
RESTU: What do you think about
the actors' acting, guys?

FATAN: Taskya Namya's

performance as Pica was
outstanding. Her expression
perfectly conveyed fear and
confusion.

SUTAN: I totally agree, she was

really cool playing the pica
character

SALSA: Anna Jobling is also very

cool as a ghost in this film

REZA: That's right, if I'm not

mistaken she comes from
Malaysia, right?

RESTU: yes it's true she comes

from Malaysia, Oka Antara is
also extraordinary. His presence
was so threatening.

FATAN: I think there's a deeper

message about mental health in
this film.

SALSA: I agree. Especially with

Pica hallucinations.

REZA: Compared to other

Indonesian horror films,
"Lembayung" has a unique style.
What do you think makes it
different?

RESTU: I think when they use

hospital sets, its hits different.

SUTAN: I think the shoot is very

unique, making this film
interesting

FATAN: btw guys, there are

rumors circulating that this film
will be remade and shown in
Hollywood!

SUTAN: Wow, if it really comes

true, this will be a big step for
Indonesian cinema.

SALSA: I'm really curious, what is

the Hollywood version like? Will
they maintain the typical
Indonesian horror feel?

FATAN: Let's just wait for the

news, if it's true it will definitely
be really cool

REZA: That's right, we will

definitely be waiting for further
information

RESTU: That's right, I agree

sutan: ok guys So, that's what
Conclusion we thought about "Lembayung."
What do you think?

Reza: It was a really thrilling

experience.

to horror fans.
