❖ PSLV XL Proba-3 Launch: ISRO successfully launches ESA’s mission to study sun’s corona
➢ ISRO successfully launched European Space Agency’s (ESA) Proba-3
mission aboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C59 rocket.
➢ The four-stage PSLV-XL rocket (PSLV C59) lifted off from the Satish
Dhawan Space Center in the second attempt.
➢ The Proba-3 (Project for Onboard Anatomy) consists of two satellites
Coronagraph (310kgs) and Occulter (240kgs) in which two spacecraft would
fly together as one, maintaining precise formation down to a single millimetre to
study the Corona, the Sun's outer atmosphere.
➢ Proba-3 is the world's first precision formation flying mission. 'Probas' is a Latin word, meaning 'Let's try'.
➢ PSLV-C59 is a 44.5-metre-tall rocket and is on its 61st flight and the 26th with the PSLV-XL variant which
is normally used to place heavy satellites.

❖ India honored with the ISSA Good Practice Award for Asia and Pacific 2024
➢ India has been honored with the International Social Security Association
(ISSA) Good Practice Award for Asia and Pacific 2024.
➢ It presented by Dr. Mohammed Azman, President of ISSA, at the Regional
Social Security Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
➢ Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) won 4 merit awards.
➢ Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) received five Certificates
of Merit for Communication channels, E-proceedings.
➢ The five award categories and brief description about each is as follows:
▪ Communication Channels: Reaching stakeholders through different Media.
▪ E-proceedings: A case on use of information and communication technology in justice delivery.
▪ Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0: Ensuring last mile delivery of Services.
▪ Multilingual Call Centres: Effort towards an inclusive grievance redressal.
▪ Prayaas: Prioritizing Pensioners.
❖ 63rd ISAM conference to be held at IAM Bengaluru
➢ Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ISAM) is organising its 63rd annual
conference at Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM), Bengaluru, from 05 to
07 December 2024.
➢ The Institute deals with military and civil aerospace medicine including the
human aspects of space flight programme of the country.
➢ It established in the year 1952.
➢ ISAM has been conducting an annual scientific conference since the year 1954.
➢ The current conference is themed 'Collaborate for Research'.
❖ India's GDP growth projection for FY25 has been revised by Morgan Stanley from 6.7% to 6.3%
➢ In the July-September quarter of 2024, India’s GDP growth slowed to 5.4%
year-on-year. This was its lowest level since March 2023.
➢ This was a declined from 6.7% growth in previous quarter. This fell short of
Morgan Stanley's forecast of 6.3%.
➢ Both private consumption and capital expenditure showed signs of slowing down. Private consumption
grew at a faster rate.
➢ However, with a growth rate of 7.1%, the services sector showed resilience.
➢ Manufacturing and energy were the main drags on the industrial sector, which trailed at 3.9%.
❖ Limit for UPI Lite payments has been increased by the RBI
➢ RBI has increased the UPI Lite wallet limit to ₹5,000 and the per-transaction
limit to ₹1,000.
➢ This has been done in a bid to encourage wider adoption of digital payment
systems.
➢ As part of its monetary policy in October 2024, the RBI had informed of its intention to adjust these limits.
➢ At present, there is a limit of ₹500 per transaction and an overall limit of ₹2,000 per UPI Lite wallet.
➢ UPI Lite allows users to do fast, one-click transactions without the requirement to enter the PIN.
➢ In September 2022, RBI launched the UPI Lite feature to ease the UPI transaction process.
➢ The UPI Lite feature is enabled by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

❖ Assam bans Beef consumption in Hotels and Public Places
➢ The consumption of beef in hotels, restaurants, festivals, and community events has
been prohibited.
➢ This decision aligns with the Assam Cattle Preservation Act, passed in 2021, which
aims to regulate cattle slaughter.
➢ Currently, the Act bans cattle slaughter and the sale of beef in areas where Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs are in
the majority, and within a five-kilometre radius of their places of worship.

❖ India, Kuwait sign MoU to establish Joint Commission for Cooperation
➢ External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and Kuwait's Foreign
Minister Abdullah Ali Al Yahya signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) to establish a Joint Commission for Cooperation
(JCC) at the level of foreign ministers.
➢ Abdullah Ali Al Yahya was on an official visit to India.
➢ Under the new MoU, new Joint Working Groups will be established
in Education, Investment, Trade, Agriculture, Technology, Security, and
Culture.
➢ The JCC would also oversee existing working groups in areas such as hydrocarbons, health, and consular
matters.
➢ Kuwait: A small kingdom situated in the Arabian Peninsula.
• It is a Muslim Arab country rich in petroleum oil.
• It has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world.
• It gained its independence from the United Kingdom in 1961.
