Problem Solving Worksheet:

1. Problem: Sarah can sell a box for $7. John can sell it for $4 less than Sarah. Emma can
sell it twice as much as John can. Is it reasonable to say they all make $14 for selling a
box?

2. Problem: Daddy can make 10 pancakes in an hour. Mommy can make 2 pancakes less
than Daddy in an hour. Chloe can make half the pancakes that Daddy can in an hour.
Charlene makes the same as Chloe. Is it reasonable to say we can make a total of 28
pancakes in an hour?

3. Problem: Charlene eats 2 candies in the morning. Charlene eats another 3 candies in the
afternoon. At night, Charlene is about eat another candy but she got caught by mommy,
so she cannot eat. Is it reasonable to say Charlene eats 5 candies on that day?
4. Problem: Mia and Ethan run a car wash and charge $5 per car. They wash 6 cars each
day. Is it reasonable to say they earned more than $100 after 4 days?

5. Problem: Lily and Noah sell cookies at a bake sale for $4 per 2 cookies. They sell 10
cookies each day. Is it reasonable to say they made more than $80 after 5 days?

6. Problem: Olivia and Jack charge $3 for walking a dog. They walk 8 dogs each evening.
Is it reasonable to say they earned more than $60 after 3 evenings?
7. Problem: Emma’s friend lives 90 miles away. She drives at a speed of 30 miles per hour.
If Emma leaves at 2 P.M., is it reasonable to say she will arrive by 5 P.M.?

8. Problem: Liam is biking to a park that is 60 miles away. He bikes at a speed of 20 miles
per hour. If Liam starts at 8 A.M., is it reasonable to say he will arrive by 12 P.M.?
