INTRODUCTION

SEAT OF LEARNING:
Govt. High School, Jhirpani, Rourkela is the seat of
learning in the locality. The school provides education to the
comprising near Jaganath temple, Jhirpani Rourkela - 42. This
institution is the knowledge powerhouse of the region since its
inception. The pass out students of this institutions make their career
in higher education, vocational education and self-employment. The
High school education is the corner stone of social, cultural and
economic development of the person and locality.

VISIT TO SCHOOL: -

In practical fulfillment of the degree of +3 1st semester


Education (GE) MANISHA NANDA is proceeding to school to prepare
and submit report according to the syllabus prescribed by Sambalpur
University.

REPORT: -
The report is sequentially comprised of three parts.

PART- I- Comprises the profile of the school containing


students' profile and other pertinent information regarding the
school.

PART-II- Characteristics of the school as seat of learning.


PART-III- Suggestion for converting the school as a center of
excellence.

PROFILE OF THE SCHOOL: -

Location of the school

Govt High School, Jhiapani Rkt42 is located in Rourkela


town under 42 ward of bisra Block in Rourkela of
district Sundargarh. The population of towns is

ESTABLISHMENT OF SCHOOL AND GRANT


OF RECOGNITION AND AFFLICATION OF BSEO: -
Govt High School, Jhirpani was established in the year
1971 by the sincere efforts of the some bereavement
persons of the locality. The school was started with
class-ix to claim it school provides teaching-learning opportunities
up to class-8. The school is recognized
by Govt. Since Class-X is recognized by Board
of Secondary education Odisha CBSEO) the
school has produced of high School Certificate examination
the feeder institution.

SCHOOL MANAGEMENT: -

The school is being managed by a daily constituted managing


committee. Under the proper guidance of managing committee and
effective supervision of D-E-O and B-E-O, Headmaster is leading the
school.

Table no.1.1 shows the syllabus wise the assessment plan for the
session 2022-2023 on the syllabus ODIA(FLO) for class x. It is
revealed from the table that the policy structure by BSEO
recommends formative assessment Test and summative
assessment Test. There will be 4 FAT which will be conducted as
mentioned in the following sub table.

FAT:
FAT is conducted according to the calendar given by the BSEO on the
subject specified in the syllabus. There are four FAT conducted in four
model namely periodic test, multiple assessment, portfolio and
subject achievement activies for each subject. The total investigator
in four FAT test will be of 20 marks carrying 5 marks in each format.
The format assessment will be evaluated by the subject teacher as
interval assessment mode.
SAT:
There are two SAT recommended for the students by the BESO. The
first SAT will be held in the week of November 2022. SAT 2 will be
conducted in to last week of April 2022, after the completion of full
syllabus, The 1st SAT will access the students out of so on the other
hand SAT 2 assess the students out of marks. The first SAT will be
model as MCQ. The 2nd SAT will be contain both mcq and subjective
questions.
In SAT both questions setting add evaluation process are be done by
BESO. There will be uniform question for the student’s across the test.

WEEKLY TEST:
District Education authority, sundargarh is conducting weekly test
sequentially every week. Uniform question is set for the student of
the district. It is evaluated by the subject teacher and the marks
secured by the students are informed to them. The questions
consists of both objective and subjective of stood with so marks as
its maximum marks. This year is an expectation where class-ix
students have to undergo evaluating format compulsory weekly test
and FA and SA test conducted by BESO.
The students is assessed by giving weightage to both FA and SA test
as under.

Table 1.5 reveals the school timing of class 10th hours per day starting
from 10:15a.m to 4:00pm. There are eight period in a day. Eight period
have been attached to each subject. The class time of a period is fixed
for 45 miniutes.In offline mode the time duration of a period is 35 to
40 minutes unheard in online mode the class time is fixed for 45
minutes. The 45 minutes is sub divided as-
10 minutes: Doubt clear and assignment
correction 15 minutes: Discussion of concept/sub
concept
10 minutes: Example question answer discussion
10 minutes: Home assignment to student
Total-45 minutes
INFASTRUCTURE OF SCHOOL:
The school is situated over a land measuring about 3
Accor. It is a double stored building having 24 classrooms. A room is dedicated
for laboratory. There are separated common room for boys and girls. One room
is dedicated for office and one room for H.M chamber. One room is dedicate for
staff common room. There is a playground for students to organized outdoor
games for the students.

SANITATION:
Proper sanitary arrangements have been made in the school. Separate
Toilets for boys and girls are located separately with 24 hours water supply
through overhead water tanks. The toilet rooms are easily accessible for all
classrooms. The numbers of toilet is not adequate as per student strength. There
is separate toilet for members of the staff.

BEAUTIFICATION OF SCHOOL:
A good boundary walls with beautiful gates entrance has been
constructed. There is open space in the backside of the school which can been
visited for planting lovely and shady trees.

The school has been aducate teaching and non teaching staff. The

Table no 1.6 shows the teacher profile in the institution in which there
is one headmaster five trained graduated teachers in arts. Six trained
graduate teachers in science for teaching PCM and one trained
graduate teacher teaching CBR. One classical teacher one Hindi and
Sanskrit teacher and one PET.
There are support staff comprising two peons and DEO and
one watchman.

Table no 1.7 shows the total number of student reading in the school.
It is also found that the girl’s strength is more than the boy’s strength.

Table no 1.8 reveals that ST population is more as compared to SC
and general caste students in the school. In class VI SC caste
students are more than the ST students. Unheard in class IX and X
ST caste students more than the SC and GENERAL caste students.

Table no. 1.7 shows that 92% of students passed H.S certificate exam
in the year 2022-2023 out of which 16.9% scored first division and
47.6% students scored second division and third division in H.S
certificate 2022-2023. Further it is also found that the percentage of
pass of girl’s students is more than the boys.

Table no. 1.13 shows that the government of Odisha provided the verities of
food of the student for class ix students. The government also provided the
sufficient plates to the students to eat this healthy food regularly. The akhaya
patra foundation take all the responsibility’s to provide the healthy food.
Here we can able to know that in this school 381 students of class IX to X have
been fuciated from the mid-day meal programme.

The table shows the amount credited in the account of akhyapatra


foundation a NGO. Akhaya patra foundation is assigned with MDMP
by the Govt. in Rourkela city and its periphery for supply of mid-day
meal as per govt rs. 8.10 by the central govt for class VI to VIII
students.but the quality of food supplied by the foundation is more
than the price paid by the govt. the foundation is providing mid-day
meal to student in a subsidized rate.

Table no. 1.14 shows the status of free supply provided to the student by the
government namely, uniform, bag, shoes and text books. The student of class VI
to VII were supplied with one pair of Uniform, Shoes and Only a set of text books
and only ST / SC casts students of class IX and X were being provided with a set
of text book.

Table no. 1.15 shows the different scholarship provided to the students. In it we
can able to know that Gitanjali Patra, Puspanjali Sahu and Rasmi Rabi Das
Receive the Pathani Samant mathematics scholarship and receiving 2000
Rs,2000 Rs, 4000 Rs money in per year. similarly Suchitra Mishra and IX class
student perceive the scholarship NRTS and MD. Ireasd Alam the student of class
VIII receiving the scholarship NMMS and receiving 2000 RS per year

PART-II
Characteristics of school as a seat of learning.
The institutions has been considered as a seat of learning because of
following characteristics.
1. It is rendering unintenpted service to the locality in the domain
of education up to high school education.
2. The institution is providing education since last
30/40/45/25/38 years.
3. The institutions targets the lower middle class and divided
section of the community.
4. It is providing teaching facility’s to the girls students residing
in the periphery of the school.
5. In addition to education the students of the institutions are
participate and performing well in district/state/national
level athlete compition.
6. Also this students of the institute are participating and
performing well in home level, district, state, national level,
literary competition.
7. Further the students of the institution have raised the name
and fame of the institution by participating and performance
well in home level, district/state/national level cultural
compition.
8. Going a step ahead the students of the position are
participating and performing well in home level,
district/state/national level. NCC/judo/karate/girls guiding/
scouting compition.
9. A high school certificate examination more than- percent
of students are completing the course successfully.

Suggestions for converting the school as a center


of learning

There is opportunity of growth of the institution the comprehensive for


suggestion for the institution are as given have under.

1. As per the need of the time the institution regards a platform


for online teaching learning programed successful.
2. The school must be WI fi connection.
3. There should be a recording studio for recording of the
course material for online transmission of the students. It will
not cause barriers of communication between the students &
teachers.
4. Space must be created for conducting literary and
cultural competition in online made away the students.
5. Establishment of a science laboratory.
6. Establishment of computer center to trained students on
basics of computer.
7. To organize work shop in hockey, football & athletic.
8. To provide tutorial classes murder to assist students for
better academic achievement of below & average students.
9. TO open NCC unit both for boys& girls to groom students
on leadership better citizenship
10. To organized regular yoga classes for all round
development of the students.
11. Specialized teaching should be arranged by experts at
least once in a month resource persons engaged by DEO are
seemed as experts.
12. Functional parents committee must be constituted in every
school level for the overall development of the institutions
because parents are one of the state holder of the school.
13. Every school must have a garden so that students will
learn on the dignity of labor.
14. Constitution of a good boundary way are beautiful gates
and advanced.
