Application Development and Emerging Technologies

1. Introduction
1.1. Document Purpose
The purpose of this document is to determine the functional and non-
functional requirements for the shopping website named, “Shopee
Philippines”. This will serve as a guide for the development and
maintenance of the website to ensure to meet the user’s needs.
1.2. Product Scope
This document will cover the requirements for the Shopee website
which includes the user interface, reliability, performance and security.
This will serve as a guideline for us to identify what needs to improve
to meet user needs and the business objectives of the company.

2. Specific Requirements
2.1. Functional Requirements
1. User Registration and Authentication
-Users can sign up and login to access the website. With the help of
authentication, it adds a security feature for the security of the
accounts created.

2. Customizing User Profiles


-Users can personalize their accounts to make it easier to identify
themselves on the website.

3. Searching Products
-Users can search for products using keywords, categories and filters
that they desire.

4. Add-to-Cart and Checkout feature


-Users can use this feature to add the products they want to a list. And
this list can be checked out to buy the product.

5. Payment Methods and Confirmation


-Users have been given different options on how to pay for the product.
And with the help of mobile number or email confirmation, this adds
security to the customer.
6. Customer Service and Product Tracking
-After the product has been checked out, users can track their orders
and ask for customer services to answer their questions and concerns
regarding the product they ordered.

2.2. Non-Functional Requirements


2.2.1. Operational Requirements
-The website should be operational 24/7
-User interface must be user-friendly and easy to navigate.

2.2.2. Performance Requirements


-The website and systems should respond within seconds after
user’s actions.
-The website’s products must be updated in real time for the user’s
knowledge and options on the website.

2.2.3. Security Requirements


-The website should use authentications and confirmations
in order to protect users against unauthorized access.
-Confirmation from the user whenever the system needs to
use the user’s information for transactions of the product.

2.2.4. Cultural and Political Requirements


-The website should use appropriate symbols, icons, and terms to
avoid offending the user.
-The user’s information and credentials will not be used against
them and must be kept encrypted and confidential.
