AI and Cloud Computing Notes

What is AI?

• AI stands for Artificial Intelligence.

• AI is like a brain for computers or robots.

• It helps computers understand and use information from their surroundings.

• Computers with AI can see, hear, or feel things around them.

• They use this information to make decisions or do tasks.

• AI helps computers be smart and do cool things!

Automation: Automation is when machines or technology perform tasks without

needing constant human intervention.

Automation in manufacturing Industry-

• Automation plays a significant role in manufacturing by streamlining production

processes and increasing efficiency.
• For example, in car manufacturing, robots are often used to assemble parts of vehicles.
• These robots can perform repetitive tasks with precision and speed, leading to higher
productivity and lower costs for companies.
• Additionally, automation allows for the implementation of advanced technologies like
3D printing, which can create intricate parts quickly and accurately.

Automation in Healthcare-

• Automation is revolutionizing the healthcare industry by improving patient care,

streamlining administrative tasks, and enhancing medical research.
• Furthermore, automation is employed in medical devices and equipment, such
as robotic surgical systems, which assist surgeons in performing minimally
invasive procedures with precision.

Systems used to model real-life scenarios are designed to mimic the behavior and
characteristics of complex real-world situations. Here are a few types of systems
commonly used for this purpose:

• Mathematical Models: Mathematical models use equations and mathematical

principles to represent real-life phenomena. These models can range from
simple equations to complex systems of differential equations.

• Computer Simulations: Computer simulations use computer programs to

replicate real-life scenarios in a virtual environment. They are widely used in
fields like engineering, urban planning, medicine, and military training.

IMA (interactive multimedia application)

• An interactive multimedia application is a software program or digital platform

that combines various forms of media, such as text, graphics, audio, video, and
animations, to create an engaging and interactive user experience.

• Educational Software: Interactive multimedia applications are commonly used
in educational settings to facilitate learning through engaging and interactive
experiences.
• Gaming
• Digital Story telling.

Steps to incorporate data from IMA.

• Identify Data Needs: Determine the types of data required for the
application, such as text, images etc.
• Select Data Sources: Choose where the data will come from, like
databases, files etc
• Design Data Structure: Organize data in a structured format suitable for the
application's functionality.
• Integrate Data: Develop functionality to retrieve and integrate data into the
application.
• Implement Interactivity: Incorporate interactive elements that allow users
to engage with multimedia.
• Handle User Inputs: Capture and process user inputs within the application.
• Provide Feedback: Design feedback mechanisms.
• Monitor and Maintain: Regular updates and monitoring.

What are simulators?

Simulators: Simulators are computer-based systems that replicate real-world

environments or processes to allow users to experience and interact with them
in a simulated setting. They can simulate a wide range of scenarios, from flight
simulations for pilots to medical simulations for healthcare professionals.

Application Software- Think of application software as tools or programs that you use for
specific tasks on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Examples of application software
include games, word processors (like Microsoft Word or Google Docs)

What is a Digital software?

• Digital software is a broader term that includes all types of software that are stored,
accessed, and used digitally (on computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.).

• So, application software, which we talked about earlier, is actually a type of digital
software.

Binary Numbers:

• Binary is like the universal language of computers, capable of representing all sorts of
different data so that computers can process and "understand" the information we give
them.

• It only includes o and 1.

What are Cloud-Based Applications?

• Cloud-based applications, or cloud apps, are programs that run on remote servers in
data centers managed by cloud service providers. Instead of being installed and run on
a single computer, they're accessed through the internet.

Key Features of Cloud-Based Applications:

• Accessibility: Cloud apps can be accessed from anywhere, not just from a specific
physical location or device, as long as you have an internet connection.

• Up to date: They are automatically updated by the service provider.

• Cost effective.

• Collaboration - multiple people can work on the same project simultaneously from
different locations.
