Practical-1

Topic: Calculating subtotal.

Required: computer lab,copy,pen,book.

Steps:

1. Type s.no,name and working


days.
2. Type on cell
d25=SUBTOTAL(9,C2:C22)
3. To manage serial no , type on
cell A2.
4. A2=SUBTOTAL(3,$B$2:B2).
5. Drag into s.no. 21.
6. Click on Data tab and choose
filter option.
7. Click on Name tab and choose
any one name and click ok.

Topic: Data Group and Ungroup and Sub total.

Output: It allows you to make group and


ungroup.

Steps:

1. Type information fig-1.


2. Select similar item and choose group
from data tab>under outline group.
3. We can see details using show/hide
details.
4. Choose all data and Click on subtotal
5. Select item in At each change in:

7. Tick on amount under Add subtotal to:

Topic: Data Consolidation.

Output: It allows you to bring together data from different sheets and workbook.

1. Type information of the student and fill the marks of PT-1 ,PT-2on
sheet1,sheet 2.
2. Click on sheet 3 and clickk data tab and choose Consolidate option
under data tools
3. Click on sheet 3 and choose the following.

4. Add data fromsheet 1 and sheet 2. Choose sum under function.


5. Tick on Top row,Left column and create linksto source data.
6. Click ok button.

Topic: What if Analysis with Scenario.

Required: computer lab,copy,pen,book.

Output: Scenario Manager allows you to create and save different groups or
values, or scenarios and switch between them.

1. Type information of keyboard.


2. Go to What if analysis>Scenario Manager from Data Tab under Data tools.

3. Click Add and type scenario name and select the range of data and choose
different value for minimum ,medium and highest value.

Topic: What if Analysis with Goal Seek.

Output: Goal Seek will find the right input when you know the result you want.

Steps:
1. Type information
2. Click on Data tab>What if Analysis>Goal Seek.
3. Type E7 on set cell option.
4. Type target value 500 on To value.
5. Type C3 on By changing cell option.
6. Click Ok.

Topic: What if Analysis with Solver.

Required: computer lab,copy,pen,book.

Output: Use Solver to find an optimal (maximum or minimum) value for a formula in one cell.

Steps:

1. Type values.
2. Go to Data tab>Solver under Analysis group.
3. Type E7 on set Target Cell.
4. Type c2:c5 on by changing cells and add some conditions like
i. Any value of c2:c5= integer.
ii. Any value of c2:c5>=0
iii. Type Target Value E7=C9.
5. Click on solve.

Topic: Referencing and Linking Sheets.

Required: computer lab,copy,pen,book.

Output: it provide a link of data from sheet 1 to sheet 2. If you change any
information in sheet 1 then it display on sheet2.
Create a link to another worksheet(Using mouse )
1. Select the cell or cells A1 (on sheet 2 )where you want to create the external reference.
2. Type = (equal sign)
3. Switch to the worksheet1 that contains the cells that you want to link to(A1 from
Sheete1).
4. Select the cell or cells that you want to link to and press Enter.

Create a link to another worksheet(Using Keyboard )

1. Goto sheet 2 and select cell A1.


2. Type =Sheet1!A1 and press Enter key.
3. Drag your range.
=SUM(Sheet1!C2:D2)

Topic: Absolute and relative Hyperlink.

Required: computer lab,copy,pen,book.

Output: Relative hyperlink: open from current sheet to any other file.

Steps:
1. Click on a cell and type “click here”.
2. Select the text and choose Insert tab>goto Hyperlink option under
link option.
3. Select the file from any location.
4. Press ok.

Absolute hyperlink: open from current sheet to any web content file.

Steps:

1. Click on a cell and type “click here”.


2. Select the text and choose Insert tab>goto Hyperlink option under
link option.
3. Select Existing file or Web Page.
4. Type website address on Address location.
5. Type “Google page” on text to display option.
6. Press ok.
