close to my core interest area, "Geopolitics".

India And Contemporary Geopolitics

Geopolitics is the crucial factor which impacts the global

interactions, foreign policies, nation's politics and the life of a
common human being. It decides how the geography influences
power relationships in the international relations.

In the contemporary geopolitical canvas, India--the country

stretched from Himalayan peaks to the Indian Ocean had emerged
as a new power center of the globe again.

From the year-old legacy of non-alignment, coupled with the

economical growth and internal political stability had forged India
to adopt a strict geo-political policies which is strongly based on
the strategical autonomy of the nation and state. These policies had
lead to a significant transformation in the international geopolitical
landscape and had shifted the bipolar world order to the
multipolar order.

Pentagon's doctrines and draft names had been changed from

"Asia-Pacific" to "Indo-Pacific" highlighting the importance of
Indian ocean and the role of India in the region. India with her long
costal boundaries, 100s of islands, 2 aircraft carrier and mighty
Naval presence in the Indian ocean had led her to emerge as the
net security provider in the region. Proving the commitment and
capabilities, in the last three months of 2024, Indian navy had
done 12 anti-piracy operations and secured the maritime routes.
On one hand, India’s poverty reduction efforts resulted in a decline
from 55.1% of the population in multidimensional poverty in
2005/2006 to 16.4% in 2019/2021 whereas on another hand,
India had made a remarkable achievements in Space missions lead
by ISRO. This had given a strong boost to the soft-power of India
by full-filling the global demands.

India is preparing itself for the 2-front-war situation impowering

"Make In India" initiative and so had developed ICBMs, fighter
crafts meanwhile had imported the essential weaponries to
strength our forces. In the recent years, India had emerged as the
weapon exporter too which is a positive sign toward being a power
block of the globe.

It clearly seems India had shifted her foreign policy from defensive
to defensive-offensive. Indian government gives a quick response
and summons the foreign ambassadors if their respective countries
tries to nose-in to the internal politics of our country or tries to
lecture us on any topics. India had constantly supported the policy
of dialogue and diplomacy and had increased influence in
multilateral organizations such as UN, G7, G20 and emerged as a
leader of global south. India had also been part of multiple groups
such as I2U2, QUAD, BRICS, SCO, BIMSTEC.
Country-to-country ties had been strengthen strategically and
economically.
Pacts such as GSOMIA, LEMOA, COMCASA, BECA with USA and
similar pacts with Russia, France, Germany had been signed
providing a deep cooperation in Civil nuclear energy, Defense and
Military, Space and Trade.

Henry Kissinger once said, “America has no permanent friends or

enemies, only interests.” Today India seems to follow same
quotation balancing of between Russian-Ukraine crisis and Israel-
Palestine conflict. India had choose the side of her own nation by
full-fillings the needs and demands of oil and fertilizer from Russia
on discounted price without caring about unilateral sanctions.
India's FM had keep exposing the hypocrisy of the western states
time-to-time and provided them a quick glance of New India.
With a great power comes great responsibility. India as a
responsible power had always used her potential for the global good.
India constantly supports the voice of south, had taken initiative of
International Solar Alliance, serving as UN peacekeeping force,
provided free vaccine to the globe against the Wuhan-virus.
Brazilian gov. today seeks India as the solely nation to end all the
global conflicts, French president quotes Indian PM's statement
("It's not the era of the war"), 14 states had honored India by
providing their highest civil award to the Indian Pm.
As a conclusion to this discussion, let’s remember that geopolitics is
not static—it’s a dynamic canvas where nations paint their
narratives, alliances, and aspirations. India’s brush strokes continue
to shape the world, and the story unfolds with each diplomatic
maneuver, economic partnership, and strategic choice. India, with
its rich history and diverse culture, finds herself at a fascinating
crossroads—a convergence of tradition and aspiration, of regional
influence and global ambition. As the world shifts and rearranges
its geopolitical chessboard, India navigates to her own complex
landscape.
