j. Differentiate between Plain & Diagonal Scales.

Section –B [Marks: 8 each]

Q2 A pentagonal pyramid base 30 mm side, axis 50 mm long, is resting on one of its side in
H.P. Draw the projections when the axis is inclined at 450 H.P. and parallel to V.P. A Cylinder
of diameter 30 mm and 50 mm long is centrally placed on the top of a cube of 40 mm long
edges. Draw isometric view of the pair.
Q3 A pentagonal pyramid base 30 mm side, axis 50 mm long, is resting on one of its side in
H.P. Draw the projections when the axis is inclined at 450 H.P. and side on which it rest is
making an angle of 300 with V.P.
Q4 A square pyramid of 30 mm base sides and 50 mm long axis is centrally placed on the
top of a cube of 50 mm long edges.Draw isometric view of the pair.
Q5 Draw the projection of a hexagon plane 30 mm side resting in H.P on one of its side and
the plane make an angle of 450 with HP and the side on which it is resting make an angle of
300 with VP. Draw its projections.
Section –C [Marks: 8
each]
Q6 A point C is 25 mm above the H.P. and 45 mm in front of the V.P. Another point D is 35
mm behind the V.P. and 40 mm below the H.P. Draw projections of C and D keeping the
distance between their projectors equal to 50 mm. Draw the straight lines joining (i) their top
views and (ii) their front views.
Q7 End A of line AB is 18mm above HP and 45mm in front of VP and end B 25mm behind the
VP and 30mm below the HP. The end projectors are 55mm apart. Draw the projections and
find TL, θ, Φ, HT and VT.
Q8 The distance between Ludhiana and Chandigarh is 100 km and it is represented on a
certain map by a line 2.5 cm long. Find the R.F. of the scale. Draw its diagonal scale showing
single kilometer and long enough to measure upto 600 km. Also indicate a distance of 573
km on this scale.
